White House blocking Fauci from testifying before Congress about covid-19

The White House has blocked Dr. Anthony Fauci from testifying about the response to the coronavirus crisis before the House Appropriations Committee, a spokesman for the committee told NBC News on Friday.

“The Appropriations Committee sought Dr. Anthony Fauci as a witness at next week’s Labor-HHS-Education Subcommittee hearing on COVID-19 response. We have been informed by an administration official that the White House has blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying,” the spokesperson, Evan Hollander, said.

Sounds about right, now that I read this article: https://www.newsweek.com/dr-fauci-backed-controversial-wuhan-lab-millions-us-dollars-risky-coronavirus-research-1500741 - they’re probably saving their behinds.

He basically backed up research on Coronaviruses in the Wuhan lab for 5 years which ended in 2019. Research included Gain Of Function, which basically means the ability to increase transmission of a virus.

Some his earlier researches were blocked by the Obama administration but resumed in 2017.
