Now don't take this as fact or fiction. I was discussing something with my friend the other day who said he feels like this album is being kept under right wraps even up until release - to give us an amazing experience upon release that we wouldn't get if we'd heard all the tracks beforehand.

We know there was a rumoured remix and promo drop, but now the remix has been scrapped it does put a question over the promo single.

As per insider, only 1 promo single was only ever rumoured in the schedule.

Personally I think 'Free Woman' promo drop with MV on the 15th wouldn't hurt at all - it gives a taste for the album. I am not sure if helps or hinders charts - it may be better if it drops upon album release to maximise peak streams. But there was merch seen on the coding of Gaga's website - bundles would help drive 'TEA'

We also have already heard probably a v5 of the track. It's interesting that those two tracks are rumoured and they leaked - similar to SL.

So do you think it's better to release a promo single or just drop single 2 and then album?

Promo singles always mess up the era, so I wouldn't mind

I personally think she should release a promo single first, then a week for streaming the promo single, then the 2nd single.

I am not sure

On one hand I think it'd be good on another hand I quite like the idea it's all secretive.

I think it would help with sales more tho.

She could maybe drop it on the Wednesday - two days before release

I'm not even gonna begin to say that my idea would be beneficial, I know nothing about how the music industry works.

That being said,

I'm in favour of a 2nd single, preferably soon
Then at the end of may, I'm talking end, not 22nd, the album drops with the third single
Then a couple weeks later single #4

But IDK, I'm sure whatever she does will be great

Irrelevant

I'm sorry but I see no point in promo singles apart from that iTunes instant grat thing :poot:

In streaming era, I think the singles always drop before album - they don't tend to plan extra one - there's not really anything to push the single because they pushed it with album.

Radio doesn't affect streaming so all the metrics are out of sync. See: the Taylor singers post album release.

I'm not sure if you meant that they don't drop singles when the album drops, because Billie's Bad Guy speaks for itself.

And I supposed they don't usually release another single after the album drops anymore, but I'd still be nice. Another music video, maybe some new outfits. Kinda like, here we go again, Billie did with All The Good Girls Go To Hell.

I mean, if one of the other song's starts getting some huge traction, might as well give it the single treatment?

I just think Interscope and Gaga are both being very cautious rn - they don’t want the backlash of releasing in such times (after 6 years of rebuilding her career too) and I’m sure Gaga doesn’t want it to be a commercial failure because then the LG7 budget will be non existent
