You should change the title of this thread, though. "Grooming" sounds heavy,

I agree but Twitter is accusing her of “grooming” so the title is accurate

When a teenager devotes the majority of the energy and emotional intelligence they have in their developmental years to an individual through attachment bonding, and their dedication results in manipulation and rejection, it harms the development of the child. If his feelings seem misguided during the points he makes about the tweets it only speaks to the inconsistencies in his reaction to the trauma.

My guess is for this is that his mother dealt primarily with the underwear situation thereby removing the burden of any trauma to bear.

For the users accusing him of being fame hungry and faking it, perhaps he is. But I watched the video, I observed his body language and verbal nuances very closely which was easier for me as I was brought up in Northern Ireland. I believe he is telling the truth and he even said that he was trying to keep quiet but couldn’t any longer due to the reprehensible hate he is receiving on Twitter.

This opens up a greater issue about the social dynamics between “influencers” and their young, underage and impressionable fans and the role of parents and guardians in monitoring communications. Please do not send hate towards a seventeen year old boy who is clearly already hurt.

I can't send hate when the problem of the post he was describing wasn't exactly a problem... What he brought to the table was not sufficient enough for me to conclude that Colleen being hurt by the reaction of the fans was her way of blaming the guy. The only issue I may agree with was yea, he was too young to understand the complications of managing an Instagram page. But due to the evidence, that wasn't exactly Colleen's fault. But that's just focusing on the one post example.

If we're going to have an adult conversation about this, we aren't going to be accusing people of "hate".

I only watch Safiya from those "popular" youtubers anyway. Most youtubers I watch aren't that youtube-famous.

Same. But I also love Jenna Marbles who makes really entertaining content. Her older content is unfunny but the newer videos are hilarious. I also enjoy smaller commentary channels, but that's about it when it comes to bigger channels

Trauma? You guys do notice modern teenagers are ruthless internet goblins who will take anyone down or be taken down in the name of online fame? He’s not a sheltered 4 year old in 1992. Someone was a little mean to him when he was 16. The internet is becoming so absurd.

Why are people defending a YouTuber in her thirties with years of experience managing a YouTube channel, influencer personality, and character entrusting a MINOR with her entire image?

The weird ass lingerie crap aside, what sane person would, again, entrust a minor with their livelihood???

Really, just seems like she’s burnt out and tried to take the easy route of taking advantage of someone for free service. Karma sucks.

But he even said she offered to pay him.

I used to subscribe to him before this so I saw it in my subs box as soon as it came out and I was shocked by the title.  I’m gonna give my opinion based on what I’ve watched and how I perceive him to be based on previous videos.

The lingerie think is being blown way out of proportion. Inappropriate? Absolutely. Grooming or anything sexual? Absolutely not! The clip was a joke, she was looking around to offer him something as a fan and as a joke she said the lingerie as a joke. But he wanted it and gave his address. Yes he was 13. She should’ve know better but in her mind it was a joke and all she can do is learn from it.

As for telling him on intimate details about a divorce. I know it’s inappropriate but tbh what person doesn’t go on about their divorce. She was probably really hurt and her emotions were getting the better of her. Again she can learn, nothing “problematic”

The letting him control her tweets. From what I can gather he was well know in Miranda’s “stan” community and she was probably fed up with Miranda (May stem from Haters back off being cancelled). Honestly she was going to pay him so... not taking advantage.

As for the homophobia, Colleen is the last person on earth to be homophobic. She didn’t understand the joke at first (thought it was shade to Meghan) but it’s not very obvious queerbating. When I saw the tweet I didn’t notice the queerbating aspect until this drama. Maybe she didn’t because she didn’t write the tweet.

as for the guilt tripping, b*tch it’s her public image being slandered of course she would be upset. Why should she asking him is he doing ok because Twitter is trashing her?? She did talk sh*t PRIVATELY  to Kory and be shouldn’t have been speaking to other fans about it.

In the end Colleen should just realise she want being professional and should just learn from her mistakes. Kory should not be chatting sh*t for no reason. This Adam lad is just butthurt because he thought he was more than a fan and is lashing out.

Also he is trying to manipulate the listener. He keeps using the words “guilt me into”. No, sweetie that’s not what was happening. She was describing outcome of what he did, while saying she wasn’t mad at him, then, expressing fear of people taking everything the wrong way. This is what supervisors actually do. Unfortunately she made a  horrible decision at entrusting a minor to help, and now he is doing what manipulative teenage Internet personalities do- manipulate. He’s not stupid.

This is just a sensitive queen who ****ed up with his fave. No grooming. No sexual assault. This is ridiculous.

Exactly, I also didn’t like how he emphasised that he is a minor. It makes it seem like he’s looking for her to get more backlash than necessary

To add additional context, I saw someone on twitter mention that Colleen was doing a charity stream giving away her clothes.

He disabled the comments on his video that screams fishy to me and he also monitized the video cash grab anyone :awesome:

Did you skip the part where she actually offered to pay or what?

Did you skip the part where she actually did not pay him for the services he had already provided? "I'm thinking of making you my social media intern." Oh, so you're thinking of making the one other person with your login info and the one other person sending Tweets which appear to be from yourself your intern. It's taking advantage of a fan.

And it's sleazy. I wouldn't at all call it grooming a minor, but it's entrusting someone very young with what's paying your bills, and to do that, you have to have something wrong with you.

Sickness

I truly cannot @ you gays defending the 33 year old woman talking with a child about her divorce and giving him the whole Miranda Sings account and the way she tries to do business with him. What GROWN ADULT does all of that? :triggered:

She knew he was a child stanning hard for his fave so her responses to the backlash are very telling. She DID manipulate him emotionally for the blame. Also what grown adult panics more than the child in a situation like that? She has issues, clearly.
