I think 'Mother Monster' loved having a group of people (strangers, essentially) love and validate her because she didn't love herself. This is basically the sentiment of 'Applause', too. Now, I think that Stefani no longer needs that love anymore. In fact, I think she thinks it's superficial. And, as I say, I get it. I think it's fair - I think it's a good thing for Stefani / Gaga. She's stronger, healthier and happier now and that's fantastic. I just think it's a shame she can't balance the two a little better like, say, Taylor Swift does so well. But I think, as another member explained on here earlier, Gaga is traumatised by her past more than others, which is very upsetting. It's just sad 'cause her only interactions are coming when she's releasing something. Like she's silent for months/years, yeah, she might post some things here and there but no interaction. When a single is about to release she goes like "Monsters I love you, I see you hehe" and that's when you know she's releasing something. She did this with Stupid Love and you'll see that happening when they decide to release the second song from the album.
