If the critics genuinely liked Stupid Love, which they did, then the album theoretically should be at least in the mid-70s. As long as the rest of the album is on par with Stupid Love (which would be shocking if it wasn’t), then reviews should realistically be solid.  My personal guess is around 80. Nothing ground-breaking, but a fun pop album that brightens the mood amidst a global pandemic. Tbh, most of the criticisms of SL seem to me from monsters and popheads who expect Gaga to reinvent the wheel with every release. The public seemed to like it even if it wasn’t huge and critics overwhelmingly had a positive reaction. Hell, even Pitchfork gave the song a positive review.

I think she'll get something between 80 and 90... More than 90? Maybe... if the album is full of bops... I have a feeling that it'll be (Stupid Love, Babylon, Rain On Me and Free Woman are all :firega:)

I think a lot of critics were praising Stupid Love because she was just coming off the hype of A Star Is Born. There's still Gaga fever after her Oscar win and the huge success of Shallow which is still out streaming Stupid Love.

I say this because they were not here for Perfect Illusion, Applause, Born This Way. They see Gaga in a new light now as someone more respected. That and pop has only recently started to become more respected among critics the second of the decade.

The critics have never given Gaga anything above 80 even with the legendary The Fame Monster

THAT was a damn shame and crime :wtf:

But now The Fame Monster is seen as iconic. There's been a lot of articles talking about it since its tenth anniversary. Reviews don't mean anything, it's the impact that does.

Oh I absolutely agree. With the rise of poptimism, post-ASIB hype, and Gaga's newfound respect I feel like she's in a good position. All Imma say is that if Rare can get a 76 on metacritic, Gaga "should" be fine.
