Gaga can become legendary, of course, she's talented, kind, have a vision, her work with the WHO against COVID-19 is something historical, but in no way she's on the level of Madonna, she can be in some decades, but today, she's just and outstanding artist and person, not Pop Royalty I hate that everyone just seems to forget about Madge’s contributions to the LGBTQ+ community Especially during the AIDS epidemic when everyone was calling it the “gay cancer” etc etc.. and she was raising money, spreading awareness, visiting patients at hospitals, and then releasing a film which showcased gay culture to millions

BetrayedSTAN 1,839
Personally i think gaga lost her way to be remembered as a pop legend since 2013 .. i mean she's a better performer than madonna and britney that's for sure but let's be honest when is the last time she released a timeless BOP ala poker face/badromance ? Her last remembered dance pop song was applause and that was in 2013 and i think we can all agree that it was not at the same level with her other hits . she will not be remembered as a pop legend .. i think She's in her way to be the next barbara Streisand. giskardsb 12,565
Gagas fame is outside the "pop royalty" box now, that box is too small for her.
Twitter 14
Madonna & Britney share the same throne. Gaga is a queen of a different throne.
Kimblue 7,334
I love all three, but Gaga has surpassed Britney. As someone mentioned before Britney kind of ruined everything in 2004 unfortunately.

bluemonkey 639
A long time ago a teenage stefani germanotta would cut class so she can go to time square and stand in front of the TRL studio hoping to get even a glimpse of Britney. You youngsters have no idea how big she was. The whole entire world knew her, even Sadam Hussein had a poster of her in his hideout. I’m guessing ya’ll were born after the 2003 because by then she was the biggest popstar on the planet. also if you can’t appreciate her as an artist or talent then appreciate her as a human being. She was dragged through the mud and was the joke on every talk show. All these young popstars talking about the hardships of the industry, they haven’t been through what Britney went through. You guys watch the many clips of her breaking down crying yet paps are still flashing their cameras at her. You tell me does she deserve that? You can’t see how inspirational her life story is then you are just cold. How many people can say they went from their most all time low and to climb back out of it? Many people in her situation would have given up or can’t even recover, personally or professionally. She’s been in the business over 20 years, how many popstars of her time are still standing? And she was the original that other labels tried to replicate. Her impact on many of the young artists you guys hear now all Britney fans. So if that to me is not a legend then you guys clearly don’t know the criteria. And no I’m not saying Gaga, she is in the running but she needs more years on her. some people gotta respect their elders especially THE MJ has said many times how much he loves Britney and asked her to perform with him. So sit down and learn ya history before you make outrageous claims.
LilyLark 10,141
No, Gaga isn't on the same level as Madonna in terms of cultural impact. But to be fair, I think it's hard for anyone in the internet age to reach that Madonna level—even for Beyonce—because there is always a new piece of news to click on. I was not born/a baby during Madonna's first peak run, but I've read and heard enough to know she just dominated the media at the time like no other. Again, I feel like the internet aspect plays into Brit's career. She's huge and while I love her....there are others who sing/perform much better than her. But she hit her peak right before blogs and was one of the few big pop girls at the time, so she dominated the news. In a way, though, one can draw parallels between Brit and Gaga: The I'm a Slave 4 U performance/Hit me Baby One More/Toxic era and Gaga's Shallow performance at the Oscars/Poker Face/meat dress/Bad Romance/Shallow. Both had iconic moments that permeated the media past the entertainment section. Honestly, I don't even like comparing women in the first place...but I believe Cher and Gaga are more alike than any other celebrity. Both have iconic outfits/styles, both are award winning actresses, both are a bit polarizing, both serve vocals, both reinvent themselves, etc. Madonna was in a few huge hit movies, but except for Evita she was never the main attraction and even Evita (the movie, not the play) doesn't have the pop culture relevance of ASIB (and no shade to Madonna, I love her). The one movie that she was in that is super iconic, A League of Her Own, is not really seen as a "Madonna" movie. Gaga and Cher, on the other hand, were/are the main focus of their movies & work with well known directors/are in Oscar bait films. TDLR: I feel like Gaga isn't going to be seen so much as a pop queen like Madonna, Britney, and arguably Taylor....even if she'll still be known as an iconic singer 25 years from now. IMO she'll be seen more as an "all around performer" like Cher. The fact that she's following up ASIB with a major Oscar bait movie with Ridley Scott, and not a supporting comic book character role, makes me believe she's serious about pursuing her acting...Also, Rihanna, imo, is also going to be seen as kind of a "hybrid" celebrity except unlike Gaga she'll be known for her business ventures.
