Explain sistren

There’s no logical reason for my opinion, other than I grew up with her and was a stan  before I knew what a Stan was. However, I’m sure someone could pull up some receipts 😂😂😂😂

She's honestly on her way. The way other females look up to her is kind of almost nearing Madonna level, in her respective generation. Starting to feel like she has more influence than Britney even though Britney opened the door for Gaga. The way the biggest artists from the past few years like Ariana and Cardi (and even Katy) all act round her, how they look up to her, how she's there for Kesha and Kesha goes to her. She's like a mother icon to some of her younger peers. Even Taylor had a sense of fangirling with Gaga. She dines with living legends like Barbra, is admired by the Goddess of Pop, is close friends with British pop royalty (Elton) and American treasure (Tony). MJ wanted her to open for him on his last tour, it's like he knew. She's now closer to the EGOT than pretty much all her female peers, including Madonna and Britney, so you know, she has a different kind of career. Madonna is the ultimate queen, no denying and three of them led in from one another. Gaga has her own throne in a sense - she knew what she meant when she said that 7 years ago. In my eyes, she's very much a legend already.

NOTHING is more fascinating to me sometimes than MJs supposed affinity toward her. He really recognized what she had right off the bat. Its just wild to me that he left this world rightttt as she was starting to be recognized.

I would have loved for him to see her career really take off and the perform together.

The ultimate pop legend recognised a future pop legend. Iconic, it's so heartwarming. Shows his good supportive nature even to those who are seen as the "new big thing". Shame his female equivalent couldn't relate in 2011

We can’t compare Madonna and Gaga yet because Gaga’s career is literally 1/4th that of M. Give her sometime, she’ll catch up. She’s halfway on the road to EGOT and if she wins an Emmy and Tony in the next 3-4 years, she’ll be the youngest EGOT ever. I don’t know why you guys want her to be the next Madonna when her career can be glorious like Barbra Streisand.

People who question Britney's pop princess status are probably born in the 2000s and didn't experience how huge and big Britney was back then. She had her first star at Hollywood at 20, was nominated for 8 grammys, 6 AMAs. She's the best selling teenage artist of all time (source: Guinness World Record). She's one of the most famous artist of our generation, her music videos are all iconic in pop culture, and the word iconic is used for everyone and everything, but I'm talking about the real definition of it

Spoiler

A person or thing regarded as a representative symbol or as worthy of veneration. According to the OED definition, an icon can just be a person or thing regarded a a representative symbol

Especially the Baby one more time song and music video, but there's also I'm a slave 4 u with the snake, Oops I did it again with the red latex suit, Gimme more with "It's Britney bitch", Toxic flight attendant suit, her choreographies, her distinctive voice has been imitated and impersonated, her fashion style for example crop tops and flat stomach with belly button piercing are all part of her trademark. Her career molded the definition of the pop star, whether u think she can't sing or that she's overrated that's a personal opinion but u cannot in any shape or form say that Britney is not an icon, that is just factually wrong.

Gaga is in fact an icon who paved her own way and cannot be compared to Madonna or Britney. We are living in that era with her right now so not many people will notice it or believe Gaga is a huge pop icon as well, but in 10 years it'll be very obvious for some.

Queen Bitch

The absolute delusion in this thread is so funny and tragic at the same time:ladyhaha:

Thinking that Gaga already surpassed Madge, that she's more versatile, that she got the Queen of Pop title in 2011:ladyhaha:
It's too funny really. Ya'll really don't know anything about Madonna's achievments huh?

I agree that she surpassed Britney, but Madonna? Hell no. Not going to happen. At least not for a very long time.

As I said in another thread, it's really only delusional Little Monsters who think Gaga is on the level of Madonna, or surpassed her. I'm sure that Swifties think the same about Taylor, the Beehive thinks the same about Beyoncé, the Katy stans think the same about Katy Perry etc. etc.

Yes; I think if she's had a global impact on fashion, culture, etc and has been around 10+ years, it puts her in the same category as Madonna and Britney.

the delusion in this thread..

but i'm sure Lady Gaga is on her way to becoming an icon, also I find it disgusting how some of you try and belittle the achievements of Madonna and Britney, the impact they had on music is INSANE.

I don't think they really belittle their impact. They're talking about specific comparisons.

I’m lowkey surprised and relieved so many people dared to ‘criticize’ Britney’s “legend status” because she seems to overhyped on GGD sometimes (in general tbh). You can’t deny she is a pop icon, but a legend? I honestly don’t see how someone that doesn’t sing live, is a a rather mediocre dancer compared to peers like Janet and has almost no creative input in everything she does would be considered a legend. Yes, she has bops and has enjoyable music, but she is nothing special besides that imo. Maybe if she stopped being a label puppet after her first album, but she stayed in it for her entire career. Unlike other artists who went their own way after playing the label-game for one or two era’s.

But to be more on topic: Gaga definitely outpeaked Britney but has yet to top Madonna. Which is almost impossible imo because Madonna had such a big impact and changed up her style and image so many times.

What you want Lady Gaga🥂 What you want with Christina🥂

The thing is britney and madonna had the drama. Like the whoe thing

Madonna had numerous scandals, relationships with famous people. Shes constantly had something to talk about.

Britney had justin, was a phenomen like american spice girls, she was every girls wish, everyboys dream.

Gaga is a whole different thing. She took some of madonnas tactics to make headlines, and thats who shes mostly similar becauss madonna wasnt ever that relatable. But most of gagas strategies was due to some gimmick fun shock factor. Which she controlled.

Britney has hits that speak for itself, they were the hits of my our generation. It was a whole ride when she was pregnant, shaved her head etc.

Gaga is only now relatable. Its not just about talent. Somethinf has to click on mass scale, like shallowp

Britney is not on Madonna's level to start with.

Britney does not even write the majority of her songs :cryga:.

No hate but she does not even sing them (I don't blame her though. I blame her record label on this one for forcing her so sing very baby-like hence damaging her vocal chords)

Don't get me wrong, I like Britney but I consider her only as a perfomer, not an artiste.

my username says it all 🇵🇭

I think Gaga is a bigger popstar.

Britneys barely talked about or cared about by the general public.

Madonna doesn’t get any radio play due to her age. She’s not given any attention by the public unless its something shocking.

Madonna and Britney gave fallen into that area of pop star obscurity, i guess.
