Set the scene if you will. i think if you look at the weeknd and dua album which were hits (although dua slightly underperformed in US) - they had a big hit to sell the album, and the hits they released were released much before the album - they started their singles era before Christmas. GP stream and hear hit singles on radio and think 'ah ill buy their record' Although it is true that SL performed horribly compared to the weeknd and dua singles, she will have released two promo tracks and ROM since then. Singles i dont think affect first week sales for artists like Gaga too badly because she is an established brand. Dua would rely on them more.
