Taide 5,789
As they should. Keeping society locked down for long period of time will burden the health care system far more than the actual disease, especially in Europe where the system is based and built on taxes. bionic 50,111
Humans aren't meant to be in quarantine for extensive periods of time. I expect a large portion of that 43% are people who hate lockdown and want it to end but understand why it in place nonetheless.

They would still be putting some people at risk. In our country, we have resorted to online learning, kids/teens are mostly keeping up with their curriculum. I'm sorry but online learning is stupid for people under 18. Almost no one is really learning. Not to mention that everywhere in the world, this strategy ignored the poor kids, who cant participate to the "lessons".

With Corona, we still don't know anything for sure. We don't even know if we really are immune once we got it. In any case, there will be deaths because of the economy. Capitalism was unfair and responsible of so many miserable lives and deaths before the pandemic and will be after if nothing changes. Our economic system is also responsible for damaging the the public health structures for decades. I'm not saying to stop everything, but if you can, stay at home and try to think about ways of breaking the actual system instead of whining about a concert or a burger, because we all are in this situation because of it. Edit: I don't mean you personally, but anybody eager to go back to an individualistic "normal" life. Yeah that rant is cute and all but literally every country was hit with the virus and people died regardless of the economic system they were in. What this pandemic has shown is that socialized medicine and communist regimes actually exacerbated the issue. Socialized medicine led to a shortage of PPE and ICU beds with an inability to produce the goods themselves whereas the United States and other capitalist super powers were able to amass it’s private industries to step in to create PPE , ventilators , testing kits , and antibody tests to such a capacity we didn’t have to deny any patients ventilators and have been able to donate to various regions across the world, particularly the USA who even got NASA involved in on making ventilators. The regions that are largely anti capitalist and anti-Western have some of the worst standards of human health and that includes North Korea, China, and Venezuela. These lockdowns , curfews, and food lines are a preview of what’s to come should economies abandon capitalism. If you don’t like the system you can go off the grid but I don’t think you have the conviction to put yourself in a situation of discomfort or provide for yourself without getting unwarranted handouts from others. If you don’t like the system remove yourself from it and create one in a commune as you see fit, but don’t ruin it for us. It’s the only system that’s been able to achieve the amount of social and technological we’ve achieved in the last century. We’d like to keep enjoying it. Capitalism, the free market and the innovation that births from this system are the only things that’ll get us out of this health and economic crisis. Oh it’s not americentrism - do you want me to call out the European private industries who are also showing that the free market capitalist model is the only thing that seems to work seeing as the public sector and government always seem to get it so wrong ? you don’t have time for this argument - because you have no argument. Now go keep enjoying the fruits of labor from this system while despising it. You fight for nothing.

Rbr 421
Some people won’t understand why lockdowns are more important than the economy right now until they get to intensive care because of COVID-19. Imagine how tired we are...

I'll say it again, with other words: I have no time for someone who still compare anti-capitalism with North Korea and more importantly, is arrogant about it. Some public sectors in Europe (it's a worldwide phenomenon tho) "don't work anymore" simply because of the free market and the whole race for profit over lives and primary needs. Keep increasing inequalities happily, lacking empathy and sense of solidarity... I guess?
