GayWeatherBOI 970
I became a stan after You and I was released as a single and before Marry the Night was, so fall 2011 (I had loved her long before that though). I remember checking her Wikipedia page for Marry the Night to see if any follow up single appeared in the info box, and eventually I learned of ARTPOP but I don't remember exactly when. I didn't know about this site, but I did know about Gagapedia, and therefore I was much more patient waiting for everything. I remember on August 12 2013 when I went to check the wiki page for Applause, which of course was originally slated for the 19th, and it said released August 12. I thought someone was joking but then I went on Gagapedia and it mentioned the snippet leaks (which I had listened to), and then I realized it was real. I jumped out of my seat and started salivating and googled Applause and played it on the iHeartRadio website like 10 times before I went into my mom's room where she was folding laundry and told her about it, and mentioned how long a wait it was gonna be from then to November 11. It was really sunny that day and I'll always remember it! How about you guys? It can be with any release of hers too! IAmNotHere1997 25,824
I still remember being at the countryside on a beautiful summer day, and sitting outside on a green chair, while Gaga's website officially showed the Perfect Illusion announcement. FfFfFfFF 55,680
I became a fan in 2017 so the only single announcement I experienced so far was Stupid Love. I remember the evenining when she posted the first pic, I mean it was just a few months before but still. I also remember her uploading a sneak peek to the video of Joanne Piano version. Head Empty 25,067
My first full experience as a stan was when she announced Born This Way. I was checking Gagadaily on the train the morning after the 2010 VMAS and watched her announce the title . At that point I hadn't even realised she was wearing real meat . Back than I was kind of ashamed that I liked Gaga (I was too much of a hipster) so I was probably scrunched up in the corner of my seat trying to hide my screen . I was at IKEA for Stupid Love . I randomly checked my phone and got the notification as I was unlocking my screen. Zilla 13,383
I remember being huddled in a McDonalds in Tribeca NYC trying to find internet to download Born This Way. Other than I think I was home 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊 𝚓𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚓𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕.
2School4Cool 6,434
I became a fan in 2011, my mom suggested Born This Way to me when it first came out because she heard glowing reviews so I went and got the album and fell in love. The first era I experienced completely in full was ARTPOP, although I wasn’t on GGD until about a year ago, so I didn’t always get the updates as they happened. I had been waiting and waiting for the 19th for Applause, but I hadn’t realized it came out on the 12th due to leaks. I think I ended up hearing it on the 13th or 14th. For every other single so far, though, I’ve been prepared and heard it when it came out. See The Best In Everyone
Shadow 6,625
I was at a college library finishing up my homework in the autumn of 2009 when Lady Gaga announced her Fame Monster EP and released Bad Romance as a single. It blew me away because before that and the VMAs, I'm usually into rock and heavy metal. Gaga struck me as different than your usual, mainstream popstar. Do your own research. Butters Stotch 5,364
I remember when the song BTW came out. I was in high school and woke up early so I could listen to it before going to school, because she premiered on a radio station. Then I went to school and spent the whole day trying to find links on my friend's BlackBerry phone (yes, BlackBerry) to download it and listen to it again. I also remember this, BR demo leaked and it was already sounding amazing. Then she released it and announced TFM. The first time I heard BR, I knew it was going to be huge, and I wasn't wrong. Also remember skipping school so I could be home and watch the music video premiere. FIND YOUR FREEDOM IN THE MUSIC
Doot 2
I remember working at McDonalds and heading Just Dance for the first time. I remember my friend waking me up telling me to watch this new video for a song called Bad Romance (the day I stanned). I remember going into the parking lot at work and huddling by a light pole to listen to Born This Way. I remember listening to Judas on a rainy day for the first time at work. I remember sitting in my car in the drive way listening to Applause. I remember sitting on the bed listening to Perfect Illusion for the first time, so excited, alongside my boyfriend, and we hated it Stupid Love was when someone sent me the link at work, and I listened to it like like 67 times in a span of 6 hours. I was shook.
Butters Stotch 5,364
I'm somewhat proud to say that I've been lucky to stand Gaga since almost the beginning, I first knew her with Poker Face, so I only missed the Just Dance era. It's been an amazing ride. And also, for those who are saying Chromatica is a mess because of the leaks... it's been like this since the beginning somehow I got used to it. Paparazzi video leaked, BR (the song) leaked, Judas video leaked, Yoü & I video leaked, ARTPOP leaked, Joanne leaked, A Star Is Born ST leaked... I’ve never personally been into heavy metal, but my music taste is still pretty different than a lot what’s popular on GGD (I listen to a lot of pop but the pop I listen to is more in line with acoustic, singer-songwriter type music). But I love how Gaga brings together so many people, she appeals to so many different tastes and genres. I used to hate electronic music so she was unlike anything else I listened to when I first got into her, but she taught me how to love electronic music and opened my mind to so much other music. Gaga drew so many fans from different walks and musical taste, I wish you could have been on this forum back around 2009-2011. It was so versatile, this forum was like a multicultural, musical festival of the world. Do your own research.
