Gaga is a Geek. Get Over it.

I kind of hate how there is this idea floating around that this is all "Bloodpop's album". Like there is a refusal that this album is Gaga.

I'm not sure why.

Gaga is a geek. It's something hidden in all her eccentricities.

But like...

This woman watches Tarantino and Rodriguez (both who have admitted to be inspired by the styles of action in manga) and watched Kill Bill (which has an anime scene in it).

She plays Bayonetta (and who knows what else) on her Switch. And I think she has admitted to playing videogames before. Maybe with Taylor?

It's entirely possible she referenced One Piece in Telephone, which in of itself is an idea to movies like Tarantino and Rodriguez.

She stans Hatsune Miku, and has had Crayon Pop open for her.

The sailor moon and Hatsune Miku pigtails have been a go to style of hers for multiple looks.

She has literally had every anime hair color.

Everything about the Born This Way music video and the tour is basically a 70s-80s cheap dystopian sci-fi film.

She mentions Jean Paul Satre in a song about weed. Come on.

She arranged was was essentially a multiform boss fight for Met Gala.

And... Just everything about the artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball? From her first outfit, which is basically a boss fight with it's weak point showing, to the hentai octopus, to the big bright bossy Harujuki disaster area?

Chromatica is a Gaga album, it's a Gaga aesthetic. Get over it.

I'm so sorry but when I read "Rodriguez", I was like "Raini Rodriguez directed!?"

I can see where fans would get that idea, but you are correct that she's shown an interest in anime type culture throughout her career.

She's just never done much with an overly apparent focus on the theme for a duration of time.

This is the first time that it's been at the forefront for an extended period of time. Enigma is where this era really began.

ALSO in the Telephone MV: the DOOM logo on her jacket + the mention of tiberium (a material from the Command & Conquer games)

I hate this whole idea that this album is all Bloodpop, as well. It feels like yet another case of women's work being credited to whatever man people can find.

She's also never put Greek philosophy or Americana-inspired music at the forefront before ARTPOP or Joanne. That's why they're different albums. Not saying you're the one doing that but when people use that as an excuse to say the album isn't hers it just comes off as nonsensical.

By that logic Joanne is Mark's album. Or Born This Way is Fernando's. The Fame Monster is RedOne's. It's bogus and offensive.

I agree but it's like kind of his whole aesthetic... at least it makes sense here. you know there's many situations where men get credit for scratching their ass in the same room as an artist and take all the credit.

She might be at times influenced by people around her but it's absolutely, 100% her vision. Every single thing that she puts out under her name is. She's one of the few artists who has a say in every single part of the process from songwriting, recording to creative direction and promotion and strategy. Claiming otherwise is derision of her craft and her artistic agency.

I also think Gaga takes heavy inspiration from the people she is around and working with. She's obviously pretty close with Bloodpop who is associated with Hana and Grimes which all seems to share a common interest for video game and anime aesthetic. I think Gaga has always been inspired by this world, but I'm sure spending time with these people also influenced what she was currently into.

That being said, it is her vision and her work. I think the people who are saying otherwise must not know the same Gaga
