RAMROD 117,037
If you didn't know yet, last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN that the federal government is considering issuing some type of immunity certification to those who have recovered from COVID-19. Immunity certificates are already being implemented by researchers in Germany and have been considered by the United Kingdom and Italy, the most recent epicenter of the global outbreak in Europe. And by last week, the USA too. And Chile could become the first country to issue immunity certificates to people who have recovered from the virus. In parts of China, citizens are required to display colored codes on their smartphones indicating their contagion risk. The controversial surveillance measure facilitated the end of the lockdown earlier this week of Wuhan, the city in China’s central province of Hubei where the novel coronavirus first emerged. With the passport/certificate, there's hope that so-called immunity passports could re-open public life for many people. Except: - Testing is limited - Unclear if antibody tests work - Might lead to discrimination and people risking infection on purpose Full article at Source: https://onezero.medium.com/immunity-passports-could-create-a-new-category-of-privilege-2f70ce1b905?source=social---tw.onezero https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/10/fauci-coronavirus-immunity-cards-for-americans-are-being-discussed-178784 https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/covid-19-coronavirus-antibody-test-immunity-certificate-987061/ Why does government always creating more problems than solving them? Don't they know anything that can be licensed then it can be forgeds by irresponsible people? What is your opinion on this, Hennies? Bt1 5,213
That's stupid. Are people still considering this?
Mister G 10,512
Okay but what happens if you recover then test positive again down the road after recovery like several people did in different parts of Asia? Clearly Fauci and the other government bigwigs didn’t think this through.

Maleficent 6
no. it can easily be used as a tool to discriminate against minorities, especially since access to healthcare is directly related to economic status. unvaccinated individuals will be stuck in a cycle of not being able to afford vaccines/testing/healthcare, and not being able to get work because they do not have a certificate. Chromatic Lover 868
During slavery in the Caribbean, the enslaved had to get certificates of permission from their masters to move from one plantation to another or they would be punished. I'm not saying, this Coronavirus immunity certificate is the same BUT we must tread very lightly when defending something like this.
aussypat 73
I dont know if this would fly in the United States because of how many restrictions there are about health status from HIPAA. Interesting to see how they would try to get around it.
