On May 1st, all shops are going to open again and on May 15th restaurants as well as hotels are opening again. Austria implemented strict social distancing laws about a month ago. The number of Coronavirus cases has been declining steadily and it seems the country has the situation under control. The curve of new infections in Austria is basically flat now. The thing is, our situation is different with all the other smaller countries but he wants to copy it. These measurements were probably done to kinda compensate the increasing risk which bears with the slow opening of shops and public places. Everything will open slowly to ensure the infections curve will not rise again uncontrollably but in a controlled manner and there is always 2 weeks in between those measurements to validate and see how the loosen restrictions have an impact on new infections. Right now, from all the confirmed cases (about 15.000) over 72% are recovered again. Also the daily infection rate is at 0,6 percent increase right now (we had a daily rate of 30-40 percent rate Mid March) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bjaf 1,336 Posted April 20, 2020 Share Posted April 20, 2020 From my perspective (I live in Canada), it seems a little too early to be reopening things, but I'm still curious to see what impact it will have on the number of cases/the curve.
