ADVENTURE

So not defending her at all, to be honest I’m not a fan. BUT... whenever I see one of these celebs go from doing great, to having their career go to flames in the media I always look at who would gain something from this.

in Ellen’s case she is one of the highest earners in all of television. I’d imagine her salary eats most of their profits away. So who would stand to gain something from her fall from grace? Networks. They wouldn’t want to cancel her and face a backlash but if the audience is sick of her and she is “over” then they can do it and come out looking even better.

im not saying this is happening. But it is interesting...

Some of those points were over dramatic, some of those points were copies from a Twitter thread, one of the points WAS the Twitter thread, and some of those points were provoked by the guests. There are some good examples out there of experiences on Ellen, and BuzzFeed could do better. With that said, based on everything I've heard about Ellen I'm not a fan.

Ellen getting dragged weekly has been the only good thing about 2020.

She's always sucked, and people are just catching on. Nice when the cameras are on, awful when they're not. The least altruistic celebrity. No one should be surpised.

The tea about Ellen being mean and nasty behind the scenes has been known for YEARS. Why we all care now? Even Gaga ignores her texts... Think about reasons why Gaga herself even used to be on Ellen so frequently multiple times a year and then out of nowhere just totally stopped other than an odd appearance once every few YEARS.

People trend to forget that she's in a position of power even though she's a lesbian. She's a awful human being.

Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.

this is a really smart analysis. Ellen is honestly a mean person. There's no if and buts around it. But as you mentioned there is something shady and there are ppl who would benefit from her falling. I bet networks are over her huge contracts and salaries and would rather axe her to replace her with someone a lot cheaper and easier to handle / control.

So if you take what came out from the Weinstein scandal, and the Sony scandal, these were some of our first real looks into what goes on in the entertainment industry behind closed doors. Sure there had been rumors of entire careers being ruined by a higher up but recently we actually SAW how they were doing it.

we think that cancel culture is something the mass consumers have come up with, but honestly it might be something pushed on us without realizing.

Are you suggesting that Ellen = Weinstein?
