Guest
The virus itself it not the problem, its the healthcare system thats the issue. The virus will kill people, but the death rates ar extremely high because our healthcare system cant handle alot of people. We are accommodating the healthcare system instead of it accomodating us. If we were ready for the virus by having enough beds, hospitals, and medical equipment, things could be much better.

If we were ready for the virus by having enough beds, hospitals, and medical equipment, none of this would happen. We could open the economy and people can go back to work and live normally. Do you know how crazy it is to ask for healthcare system to be prepared for PANDEMIC? It will never be possible, the best healthcare system can do is get more beds and medical equipment. If we built more hospitals, no one would use them and we would have trouble with the cost of the upkeep. You're just being so unrealistic right now, we should worry about getting enough researchers and better technology in order to find the cure for this virus. We need better technology, more LABORATORIES, not hospitals My pu$$y tastes like pepsi cola
sicilymanora 24
It's what happens when you focus on ONE thing only. Mismanaged and mishandled. Especially since we get outbreaks of illnesses all the time.

We need better technology, more LABORATORIES, not hospitals quarantine hotels, temporary hospital expansions, mass testing. these things would’ve kept life normal. there was ample opportunity to do such things, as we’ve had intel of the virus since December/January. No govt took proper action bc up until late January the WHO refused to even say the virus was transmittable from human to human...

Basically any health system anywhere could NOT be prepared for a pandemic, that is right, but it's working hard to save lives, those that can be saved. I work in a pharmacy and I work directly with elderly homes, their doctors, nurses, etc. Many people have many other diseases that complicate with Covid19, specially those that affect your respiratory system. Diabetes, Asthma, Heart diseases, etc are some examples. Someone that doesn't have any other disease other than Covid19 can be cured in a matter of days and even rest at home, I have friends that have had it and they were just at their home getting fever treatment because there isn't really anything that can be done other than that, unless you don't have any other illness. Those who are dying are either really old that even a lung infection could kill them, or people with other diseases. I get informed by doctors on those elderly homes (because I ask) and there's many infected elders, but only the ones that had any other chronic problem have passed. The big issue with this pandemic was the "it won't happen to us" thing. People just went around anywhere from January to March without knowing that there was something big coming, even though goverments were telling that "it was just a flu" and that there was nothing to worry about because it was happening only in China (China also informed too late and with less importance that what it really had). Governments around the world acted too late and the damage was already done. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

A reason the mass panic began (in North America at least), is that news outlets were reporting that soon “hospitals will have to chose who gets treatment”. The idea that if you catch it you might not be able to get proper medical care is what fuelled the mass hysteria greatly. And it never happened. New York barely used 1/3rd of the hospital beds they planned to.

If you're lucky and don't have any other disease that could be complicated because of the virus, you can spend your quarantine at home during 14 days taking some antibiotics and Paracetamol or anything else for fever. Of course they're only gonna treat those whose lives are at risk before treating others that have low symptoms or nothing else that could be deadly Tests have to be done massively, those who have symptoms have to stay at home and protection needs to be wide spread. But when fake non working tests and bad equipment is bought from China and it doesn't work, or when people don't follow the rules, those are problems. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula? Cruise ships are getting billions of dollars as a gift while the healthcare system is suffering. Doctors and nurses are expected to risk their life to death without any help. How em I being unrealistic? Governments were warned years ahead of time that this virus was inevitable, but did nothing to prepare for it. I am not asking for unrealistic things, im asking for what scientists and economists have been demanding. The country would spend less money for Medicare For All, yet be more effective during this pandemic. Yes there is no cure for COVID-19, but some people need intensive care to be able to survive. Most people will be denied this because the healthcare system cant service everyone. This results in more death than the virus itself. This is why the healthcare system are asking people to flatten the curve.

America has 700,000 cases in the last 5 months, its not billions of people. Also this is a pandemic so im not expecting to treat everyone, but atleast be prepared for some basic things. Many countries including third world countries did an amazing job.
