I'm not calling for them to downplay it. I'm criticizing lack of balance that needs to be addressed I sometimes whatch the Portuguese news... They do a much better job of simony reporting all the facts without cherry picking for sensationalism. Dunno why North America can't do it The US *can't speak about Canada* has immense amounts of polarity within it because of colonial racial superstructures + sheer size + history. I've been DYING to write a paper/have research on this. It's interesting you brought that up... considering America's turbulent past yet it's external distance from everything else I would probably list said things as to why our news/news outlets feel so conflated. In ireland, 25% of cases are in our healthcare staff and we're having a huge issue with it being spread in nursing homes. These arent just numbers, they are people. Personally, yes, I wish we saw more recovery rates but I also know that with that comes a sense of comfort and a lack of responsibility, and to be a millionaire in the states means you have very few worries.
