The situation right now IS dire, and in my opinion the panic is completely justified when bodies are piling up in morgues and the economy is being destroyed before our very eyes. We are living in unprecedented times. The world hasn't experienced a crisis on this scale since World War II. It's easy for him to say "gee calm down guys people die of the flu each year" when he can retreat to his cushy mansion and sit on his pile of money. People are rightly so worried about 'money' too. Literally everyone relies on money and acting like this crisis wont put so many people into financial hell and that's not necessarily more or less important than human lives but it sure is important. Sensationalism in the media is a real issue, but for once we are facing a crisis that actually warrants this type of coverage. Now is not the time to say "well the media overhypes everything so it must not be THAT bad, calm down guys." It IS bad. Like, people dying and losing jobs bad.
