How can you say DWUW outperformed Applause :deadbanana:

gurl it seems you didn't follow the ARTPOP era

giphy.gif

With a music video, DWUW would have outperformed Applause EASILY

giphy.gif

Miss DWUW reached the #1 spot on Itunes in more countries than Applause and its longevity was a lot better

Thankfully. I truly love INLA but like no song could have led the whole thing better than Shallow.

Thrasher

Oct 21 - Promo single (Do What U Want, turned into 2nd single)

Oct 28 - 2nd single (Venus, downgraded to promo single)

Nov 4 - Promo single (Dope)

Nov 11 - ARTPOP release

Amazing rollout, would be very effective in the streaming era :golfclap:

I don't why you guys think Elton is such a grammy darling, his last nom was in 2011 and his last win (out of 5) was in 2001. :poot:

Imagine thinking they will even think about submitting Sine From Above if ROM is a hit :billie:

Didn’t the Grammys dedicate a full live TV event to Elton where almost every relevant artist performed? :billie:

Yeah I guess they thought the ‘I Will Always Love You’ quality of INLA would bring them sales and streams. But Shallow is just too unique and powerful. An instant classic :legend:

I prefer DWUW over Noplausse but the only thing it didn't have promo-wise that Applause had was a MV and it's not like Applause was pulling Gagnam Style views that mainly fueled its chart runs WW. DWUW got good performances and promo spots too.

But well it did good for a post-album single and the lashings Gaga was receiving at that time. I'm really happy she got out of that and she didn't join that infamous 27 group since she was 27 during thr ARTPOP era :ohno:

Yeah but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a Grammys darling when it comes to the  actual award.

I'm all for it sis. Was a bop. I assumed stupid love would serve the same because of the instrumental. Altho some delulus are saying SL is on par with Dwuw size hit.. :rip:

It wasn't just the no MV though. it was the messy rollout and Christmas freeze as well.

Dwuw deserved more. As well as GUY, she should've done xtina MV and released late Jan

Well even if that's not my favorite production on the album, BTW had to be the lead, it carried the whole message of the album and the exposure it got as a lead single had a great influence on many lives and many mentalites.
