The essays in here ...

Anyhow, if you have 60M monthly listeners but can't sell more than 50k...that speaks for itself if your career is payolad fueled or not.

The industry should know by now that payola never works in the long run...see Katy Perry, from getting 5 #1s in one album to not being able to even enter the charts.

You still going on about pure sales :rip:

5 years from now you’ll be like “Drake couldn’t sell 1,000 copies total. Some artists are still able to hit 2,000 copies...”

:rip: :rip: :rip:

Katy’s success was never payola. People genuinely cared about her music in the first half of the last decade. They found her interesting. Now they don’t. Sometimes it really is as simple as that. Especially with an ever changing demographic. The teenage and pre-teen girls that consumed her music were big iTunes users. Their demographic did not convert largely to streamers. Women pushing 30 will typically listen to the radio and still use iTunes. Unfortunately for Katy, this demographic wasn’t as loyal to her as they were to someone like P!nk.

Forbes adores BLACKPINK. This isn’t the first time they’ve gassed them up.

Also the “yet” is unnecessary. You’re not gonna get bigger than Gaga.  :triggered:

Exactly ! The interest is there for sure, it just didn’t click, but with the right song, we shouldn’t worry about this!

lol and also that’s my dream, and why I pursued this opportunity. Hopefully I’ll make it.

You're posts are amazing and so insightful. The claim of payola holding SL's steaming back always seemed pretty weak. Like maybe some, but not to this global level we've seen, lol.

Anyway, you're a star and I can't wait for you to get Gaga 3x #1s on LG7. :legend:

You’ll hold Michael hostage until Gaga turns in a song with a chorus.

Yes and no.

The initial response was because the label did a good job.

The continuing support comes from a smash song, one that is added to the people’s own playlist after the editorial support.

We have two examples of this treatment one gone right (don’t start now, which increased constantly) and another one wrong because the people said NO and didn’t add the song to their library (stupid love).

There’s no difference between the treatment of these two songs. Obviously one was liked by the GP and the other wasn’t.

Ok, so inspired a bit in Entela’s post, I decided to give y’all a master class.

When we talk about Spotify playlists, it’s important to know the difference between them:
1.    There are editorial playlists such as THH, Hits Du Moment, Teen Party, etc. These are the ones that paranoid users here who believe that everyone from Scooter Brown, to any other girl’s management and Jesus Christ Himself can pay for its inclusion (which is not allowed).
2.    The Top 50s from each country.
3.    The Viral 50
4.    The tastemakers playlists (this come from big profiles that are not  curated by Spotify).
5.    User Made playlists.

Now, look at this chart.

962769236a0f34c0d13318d2c513b35b16051ee9

Stupid Love and DNS basically started with a very similar amount of editorial playlists. However, on both song’s second week we notice some stuff that is relevant:
1.    Stupid Love falls considerably WW and loses some of its Top 50 followers, which means, it dropped out of the TOP 50 of some countries.

2.    To this point and compared to the first week, both DSN kept more or less the same amount of editorial playlist followers. Which means, the editors must have had two weeks to test both songs’ performance.

3.    On the contrary, DSN on its 2nd week basically keeps its WW position, streams and also gains followers on the Top 50 playlists (which means, it entered the Top 50 of some countries.

This only means that clearly despite basically having the same treatment, one song took off while the other didn’t. There was not payola, there was not god made plan to sabotage Gaga, there wasn’t any of that. Obviously after this, it’s only path was to be removed from editorial playlists.

I’ve read that “But Dua Lipa had +190M playlist followers while Gaga only had +110M!!!”. I don’t know where y’all are taking this data from. If you are using pages such as Spot On track, this number includes also user made playlists. This further proves my point that DSN had a better reception than Gaga.

Now, I hope that you take into consideration for the future and stop being obsessed, deluded and smelly.

If I didn’t make myself clear in any part, please let me know :)

Did you have to snap this hard?

Of course entela’s reply was “omg the essays” :rip: They got dragged to the moon and back. :applause:

It’s nice to see someone who actually understands the numbers and doesn’t throw them around because they can’t accept the fact that Stupid Love bombed on Spotify.

Don't care about Michael. I'll hold Gaga hostage and lock her in Beyonce's basement with Sia.

I tried, me giving away the sales numbers was a HR  test.

Sadly the bundles gate didn’t convince them though.

I also clocked him when he dragged songs with 80% streams and 20% sales when I told him that those are basically Shallow and Stupid Love’s ratios :rip:

Wow at the essays :billie:. I enjoyed them though. Moving on, the FW leak is claimed to be an early demo. I guess it could pull a ROM for most of y’all who don’t like the song right now. And especially to the ‘it has no chorus’ criticism as that was the same criticism for ROM’s demo.

Does it matter? Damage is done
