Before announcing Taylor ’s participation in the charity concert, Taylor ’s chinese fans reported to the The State Administration of Radio Film and Television of China that the show was curated by Gaga. They sending mails and making calls to the government calling gaga as a Tibet-Independence supporter and her charity concert may brings harmful information to Chinese people.

Now that's some very flavorful clownery right there.

Had a friend who is Chinese and she translated things for me on some websites. Some fans were saying they were "happy Gaga was sexually assaulted" and that she was “a pig who deserves to die”

Jesus. :saladga:

I meant I understand patriotism (especially for someone who also lived in a communist country) but ma’am some of them are so ****ed up.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

it's before the oscars:billie:

And ? You really expect her to kiss Taylor Swift during the social distancing things ? :huntyga:

Seriously, Taylor Swift and Gaga expressed their common respect and praised each other many times over the years. Chinese stans can stay pressed, I think they should focus on more important things right now especially knowing what happened / is happening in their country.

Agreed. I'm sorry if you had yo go through any issues living in a country with that system

Its ridiculous how crazy and vile people can be to someone they have never met just for their views. I get a disagreement, I even get other means if its a big debate, but to say stuff like that? Its way way too far.

I actually know a lot about the Swiftie, monster drama in China since I am a member in the biggest fan site there.

Not all of them but some Swifties are absolutely TOXIC!!! Like unbelievable. They made tons of very very offensive memes about Gaga, trying to tie Gaga's artistry (actually some of them are non-existant) to all sorts of Chinese government boundaries. The memes are just DISGUSTING that I don't even want to post here. I left that site after being a member for seven years because they are getting increasingly dramatic they even tried to trend "LADY GAGA ANTI-CHINA" on Weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter) and actually succeed (thank god majority of people didn't believe that tag)..

In short this is just too much drama... Most of the Swifties in China are very young in age, like middle schooler or early high schoolers, so I guess that can be part of the reason for that clownery.

Back on the topic about Gaga being banned... It is NOT true AT ALL... maybe some local television. But Gaga is a very acclaimed artist in Chinese National Television, like very very acclaimed. As a musician, this One World Concert appeared on China's biggest music education site with a specific page dedicated to Lady Gaga. So it's not really true that she'e banned coming from first hand experience.

Also if some of you are interested in this dramatic Chinese pop culture regarding to western (Europe, USA) divas, feel free to ask me because there's lots of teeeeeeeaaaaaaaa
