With perfume, you just have a scent and Gaga basically said she didn't have that much control in the perfume, thus why she didn't like doing it. A huge difference. I distinctly remember being at the artrave and she sang the second verse for Bad Romance in place of the first verse, and then proceeded to sing the same verse again during the correct point. I remember much earlier on when I started to follow her, by Born This Way era I myself started to get annoyed because she was contradicting herself more and more as time went on. However, I think part of the problem fans have with Gaga, or anyone they follow for that matter, is they selectively ignore that these people are human beings who's opinions on things change over time. Hers has changed quite a lot: -Gaga said she doesn't like being a money making machine, doing things like perfumes, but then she proceeds to make Haus Labs and to pose with a glass of champagne celebrity the fact she just got paid 100 million for a residency. -Gaga said she would never conform to what the industry was demanding of her in order to be commerical (all while wearing dreads and an outfit made out of garbage bags), and then proceeds to make a jazz record and Joanne. -"I'll never let my fans see my without heels". Sonja even said Gaga (jokingly) would kill her if she let fans see her in sweat pants. Yet after ARTPOP, she's consistently out and about wearing sweats and flats and I believe in FLIP FLOPS, which she herself said were the biggest laziest thing in fashion. I'm quite sure that yes, she probably doesn't like a lot of what goes on in the industry, that she's seen as a cash machine, that she feels sometimes she has to compromise her art in favor of commercialism, etc etc. But I myself wore nothing by skin tight skinny jeans and hoodies for many years, said I'd never wear anything else, and now I don't dress like that at all.
