Not sure what fairytale world Trump thinks he lives in. Somehow he’ll manage to get re-elected after fumbling horrendously with this pandemic. The thing is: Trump knows the unemployment rate is starting to look really bad for his administration in this election year. Softening the ban would most likely halt/reduce the number of jobs that were lost, but in doing so, it greatly endangers the entire population. I don’t think it’s a cynical approach; it’s a realistic view of what’s a priority for this administration right now. Sad thing is, we know he will soften restrictions and Governors that worship this man will follow along like the sheep they are putting everyone at risk. I'm hoping it won't happen but the biggest **** up of all time would be opening it up at the wrong time and having cases get so bad again that they would have to go under a second major lockdown.
