WAP must win.

Which is kind of sad when you think about how it's not even on the standard version of the album. :saladga:

I think we should do that until My Name Is Dark gets to where it belongs, which is #1 :ohwell:

This is some Iowa voting app sh** I demand a recount :cryga:

My Name is Dark deserved more, but #1 is reserved to WAP :vegas:

COMMENTS

@bowie1986 From the moment I heard this demo (formerly titled "Black Swan Blues"), I knew it would be one of my favorite Grimes songs. The vocal is affecting, the lyrics are brilliant, and the melancholy banjo provides a confessional tone that bursts into the ethereal realm when the guitar harmonies and 808s come in. I love it.

@tomsches Perfect song! OMG I love it so much. The lyrics, the meaning, the desperation expressed in music - ugh!

@AndreuYeah, I know I am giving my 11 to the song that sounds less like a Grimes song on the album, but I loooove this song. It's one of my favourite songs released this year, plus I think it gives a nice contrast when compared to the rest of the album. Musically its awesome, it has a somewhat surpriseing and original harmony, the instrumentation with the violin and the banjo is simple but fantastic and the lyrics are fantastic.

@efrs291 This is truly poetry and a delicious texture between acoustic/electronic.

@ororo munroe Well-written ballad, but fells odd to me sorry :<

@GayPrideUnicorn Beautifyyl lyrics!

@Sestri Levante Without a doubt one of the best songs on the album, the guitars and the atmospheric vocals turn this into a beautiful, sad dystopian anthem. C's view on the lyrics made me appreciate it even more.

@littlefreakster Reminiscent of her earlier work in Art Angels. This is my second favorite from the album because it is such an impeccable combination of the styles of both albums.

@adterp Probably the song I've listened the most since the album came out as I relate heavily to the lyrical content. I always go back to it, it makes me feel a lot of emotions, happy tears reminiscent of joyful memories and angry tears because addiction, self-destruction and stuff. I didn't know that all I needed was a simple cord and that almost-breaking Grimes voice. The song with the most substance from the album and one of my favorites Grimes songs. I guess I'm a folky-country girl now.

@Ctouf What a blessing for my ears after the atrocious Darkseid. All my diseases and headaches have been cured after listening to this song. This is my favourite of the album and I loooooove the production and the lyrical content. Everything about it is perfect and it makes me feel so nostalgic of a past time and at the same time sad as f***.

@BradleyCooper My absolute favorite from the album. The instrumental chorus is so beautiful and hits me deep inside, I don’t know why. Her voice is so soft and clear and production is so simple, but it all works so perfectly. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer so I can keep listening forever.

@Lois GriffinThis song will always have a unique place in Grimes’ discography for its relatively unaltered vocals. Having a lyrically-driven track like this tested what I thought Grimes was capable of. The lyrics are as poignant as they need to be for this new sound.
