Will Taylor's rerecords be eligible for the Grammys again?

In November 2020, Taylor Swift will be granted permission to rerecord her entire catalogue to be included once again in her self owned masters. If for once again, will Taylor's rerecord of albums be granted nominations or eligibility on the Grammys?

That would make no sense. If they've already been recorded previously and won Grammy's they shouldn't be eligible since they're songs that already exist.

I think it’s possible. Gaga and Tony got a Grammy for songs that already existed.

obviously she can get nominated. Many artist when they release a different version have got nominated.

Also, she will most likely change few things in songs. Her voice is at best right now. I could see her being nominated for few Grammy already.

ALL TOO WELL DESERVES RECORD OF THE YEAR

I seriously hope not.

That is a complete fck you to anyone else with original content who hopes to gain recognition at future ceremonies.

Unless the versions are vastly different than the original, I dont think it should be allowed to simply re-record your own songs and then resubmit them for Grammy nominations.

Maybe yes, maybe no, I do think it's something the Grammy board would have to think over. Yes, a lot of artists re-recorded certain songs and re-released it. But with Taylor it would be a whole new scope, re-recording you entire discography is something I haven't seen til this day. And it could lead to loopholes, like, an artist could re-record a song hundreds of time and still be nominated? And live versions of their songs? Shouldn't they be allowed to be normally nominated?

If her albums sell a lot (which it'll probably happen), I see they creating a category of re-releases.

Also, with things like Cheek To Cheek, these were songs from other artists that were almost remade from scratch, it's not the same situation

I don't know how to write in english

I trully want to see this happen. Her rerecording her old songs. Imagine if she changes some things (like lyrics or arrangements) it would be history. I mean, yes, people have re recorded albums before, but the entire discography of one of the most importan figures in music nowadays... that's something to experience.

Kindness rules all.

If it's reproducted, like Joanne, it can be, but if it's only remastered, then no.

And album wise I don't think so. It's not a new album conpcept wise, so it would be a shame to to do so.

I bet they will. Knowing Taylor, she's going to do something spectacular with them.

Also, Red still deserves a Grammy :bradley:
