Jenina 15,086
"When I got into backstage work back in 2012, my first job was washing dishes for the tour catering, and one of the first concerts I ever worked was a Lady Gaga concert. She had just finished performing, and it’s now a race against the clock. Her security/production people are hurrying her along to her transport to GTFO of the venue. Failing to do so could tack on an extra hour of transit time if they get caught in the after-show traffic. As she’s making her way to her SUV in the loading dock, she notices us (the catering workers), pivots, and walks over to the kitchen. Despite it not being in her best interests, she spent an extra 5ish minutes just thanking us all for our hard work and for keeping everyone fed. It’s rare enough to hear thank yous from non-kitchen staff, and this really made everyone’s night. I, however, was a greenhorn at the time, and thought that maybe this was commonplace. Nope. In the 8 years I’ve worked since then, no other artist has gone out of their way to thank us like she did. I didn’t care much for her music then, and I still don’t. But when her songs come on the radio, I leave them on. I figure: if Lady Gaga can give me a few minutes out of her day, I can give her a few out of mine." cool

This is exactly why she is where she is today. She's a truly kind and caring soul who just wants to help people and extend her feelings of gratitude to them even if they didn't help her directly. She doesn't expect anything in return, yet she gets the appreciation and reverence. Because she puts out the good in the world, she receives it back. She's incredible and deserves everything and more. God bless you Stefani aka Gaga "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here."

This is one of the most beautiful thing I've read from a non fan. If only pop fans can be as kind and look past their own favoritism.

littlepotter 75,171
"I have fibromyalgia and low thyroid like she does. You have no idea how much she did for us. How many doctors I'd been to, how many years of treatment, PT, therapy, psychiatry, how many specialists I'd visited and how many times I've been outright dismissed by people with fancy degrees hanging on their walls. How many times I cried and wish I could move like other people did. How many wishing wells, stars, and birthday wishes I'd prayed for even just one day, one ****ing day free of body pain. How badly I just wanted to be "normal" in my teens. I was 15 when I was diagnosed, and it was a time when there was still debate in the medical community on if it's "real" or not. Imagine being an impressionable teenager and being constantly gaslit by people who are supposed to take care of you and to have them tell you you're imagining the 5 year whip lash you've had all down your back. I hate to be agist, but I still refuse to see doctors over the age of 40 because I don't expect them to be up to date with the science, and it was a huge waste of time and money. Lady gaga going public with her struggle with fibromyalgia and letting the world see just how painful and real it can be is nothing short of heroism to someone that struggles with this awful invisible illness. It's so empowering to be able to confidently explain that's just how it is, watch the doc, lady gaga goes through it too." chaeri pls
