Spock 20,290
I'm about to finish making my way through Hitchcock's American filmography and whew the TALENTRY I'm a huge film buff, but over these last few years I've gotten really tired of modern movies and really delved into classic Hollywood. Hitchcock's films are definitely my favorite and are such pieces of art even the ones that are not the best still have something really good about them have you seen any of his films? what are your favorites? who will love me when the night is over
Blade 5,603
I love his Psycho & Vertigo. Want him in my Rear Window. He's sick
Defmix100 6,326
His work yes but he as a person seems pretty Weinsteiny from what people have said favourite films of his are Rear Window, Psycho and Strangers on a Train
Mister Gaga 22,856
I stan him hard. I love how intelligent his movies are, and this feeling i get like he's always in control of everything that's happening, he's guiding you from the shadows and in the end, you always fall in his web. 12 minutes ago, Spock said: have you seen any of his films? what are your favorites? I've seen Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, Rebecca, The Birds, Strangers on a Train, Rope, North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Spellbound. I still have a lot to see! LaLuna 12,732
I stan the filmmaker, not the person. He was a major a-hole, especially to his female actresses. That guy had major issues. But yeah, he made amazing movies, I actually took a class in college where we studied like 10 of his movies. My favorite movies of his are Psycho, Vertigo and Rebecca. As a filmmaker he's genius, just sucks that he was more than likely a predator. My same feelings for Stanley Kubrick
AllyCampana 277
the birds is the movie that left me scared for days so we stan Ally

I was just referring to Shelley Duval, but you have to admit A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut have a lot of objectification of women. I still love these movies for what they are, but I've matured during this political time and can recognize the misogyny.

Yeah I was shocked when I saw how he treat her and the Shining is my favourite horror film but I can't imagine how it must have been for her. And you are right, I did think the same with ACO but I haven't read the book so don't know if he was just keeping to plot (though he didn't do that with the Shining). Hadn't thought that about Eyes Wide Shut though but I'm sure you are right and I haven't seen it in years.

I read ACO book and he added a lot of more controversy and I don't remember the negativity towards women as much versus the movie. The scene I'm referring to is where they were on the stage or something and she was running back and forth because they had cornered her.

I really like the style and watched a few conspiracy videos on it before haha I can't actually remember that scene but the home invasion scenes were the ones which came to mind after you mentioned the movie
Alladin Sane 505
Probably my favorite director, because he knew not only how to capture the attention of the audience, but controlled it in each scene of his movies. Psycho, Vertigo and Rope are a intensive masterclass of how to make good cinema.
