Just cause it flopped the most doesn’t mean it’s the worst choice for a single. The era was too far gone during that time and anything would have flopped. The worst choice is def Stupid love. At least PI sounds edgy and different but SL is so basic and a step backward with her lyrics, visuals, etc. I can’t with that song being her comeback to pop music. Guest Posted April 14, 2020 Share Posted April 14, 2020 Y'all gonna come for me but take it with a grain of salt: as much as I appreciate her quirky behaviour and The Cure is a little quirky I can't help myself but hate hAte HATE The Cure. I never make it through the whole song when it pops up, because it is cringey overall imo even though I try to like it every single time. Also when she debuted it at Coachella it was just a very underwhelming experience, so many were hoping for new, darker themed material but The Cure is bland and very Chainsmokers and the complete opposite of dark lol also the lyrics video where she sits on that floated couch surrounded by those quick-chopped lyrics triggers nausea in me A MESS so I am just gonna pretend it never existed .. Kinda surprised actually. The MV needed a bit more work but the song itself is pure pop perfection! One of her best songs! Hypnotic and fun! Don't forget that the video is about being taken advantage of by her label. G.U.Y as a double meaning fits the concept the best out of any other songs on ARTPOP in my opinion.
