I swear if Trump appoints some far-right winger to take Ginsburg's seat.. :fail:

Progressive values will be gone for a generation. I dont even want to think about what types of cases Republicans will send to the Supreme Court so they can get the ruling they want.

Progressives are coming to take over smaller races as they always have been, and luckily after Bernie shifted the Overton window, it should be easier.

That's what Bernie wants, did you not hear his words today?

Bernie can do what he wants and I’ll do what I want.

@Franch Toast your post is noted. Feel free to vote for Joe but the important part of my post is that I think there’s a better path forward. I will advocate for that path before voting for Joe. At any rate, let’s talk again when Joe picks kamala harris or klobuchar as his VP.

I don't know about that

I do think a Centrist to Centre-Left candidate has a better shot of winning than someone as left as Bernie that is too hard for centrists and moderates to swallow

But Biden is so unexiting, low energy, no major vision to excite people, has allegations that could work against him etc

Pete or Amy could of been better Centrists than Biden for the general race tbh

It depends.

I like Pete more, but the impact of the religious vote was always gonna be a problem. He also had big problems with non-white voters, because he was new, gay and he received a lot of attacks on black issues.

Amy got important too late in the game. She also had problems, but since she was never the front runner, she didnt have to answer for them. She may be the vp.

Biden could solve a lot of his problems with a good vp choice.

How can you even talk about kids in cages when Obama and Biden are the reason the cages were there in the first place? Biden’s plan on climate is no better than Trumps no-plan.

And all the more reason to stop shaming Bernie voters for not voting for Biden and at least getting them to vote down ballot to save the senate. Maybe that’s more preferable than pissing them off so they either stay home or vote for trump and you lose senate, presidency and maybe even the House. Maybe sometimes people with your POV should compromise instead of demanding conformity from people like me?

Obama had children separated from adults. They were in those holding facilities for a very short amount of time. They had medical care, good meals, recreational activities, etc. while the government was looking for relatives to place them with.

Biden believes in climate change. He will recommit the US to the Paris Agreement on climate change. He won’t gut the EPA, like Trump is doing. Trump and Biden are miles apart on this issue.

We know, you are voting for a third party person. You have every right to do so, but if you are going to keep announcing it as some proud declaration in every thread, people are going to state their opinion on that. If you don’t want opinions on your vote, you could simply keep it to yourself. The only person in that booth is you. Instead, you want to proclaim loudly your vote and the complain when others are “shaming” you for your vote.

He will, it will be some far right nut that is forty years old at the most.

Say goodbye to any progress we made over the last thirty years if this happens.

Neglected in what way. I specifically said southern voters bc black voters aren’t a monolith. Black voters under 50  generally preferred Bernie or was at least competitive. Black voters also varied from state to state with regard to support. Maybe you should stop talking about African Americans as if they’re all the same, all have the same needs, etcs.

Biden got sixty five to seventy five per cent of AA support in the states from SC on. They aren’t all the same, but they certainly voted for Biden in overwhelming numbers.

Bernie didnt have that. That's why Biden won. :trollga:

However Bernie had the young voters. That's true.

Bernie had young people, old people, white people, black people (admittedly not as strong as Biden), Latinos, Jews, Asians, men, women, straight people, LGBTQ people, etc.

Bernie didn't have a high enough turnout with younger people, which was a major factor in why he lost. Older people actually turned out a little more than usual (which definitely helped Biden). Bernie has the coalition, which is also why he had millions upon millions of dollars from his grassroots supporters. Unfortunately, the turnout was just not there for him and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much you personally support a candidate, what matters is that you get out and vote.

I believe it needs to get worse to get better. I was a Bernie supporter but not his unquestionable follower

That's not how society works :toofunny:

If it gets worse, it just gets worse. We don't need to go down to go up. People don't need to lose rights like protection from discrimination, healthcare, religion, etc to somehow gain more rights when those are reinstated.

Biden (and the establishment/administration he'll build) is the only answer for now.

Bc you have to earn votes with a good platform that addresses the major problems of the population. Convince people your platform is the best... and if you look at opinion polls, he failed to do that (thank god). If Joe Biden’s platform is trash, and he doesnt change it, that is only on him. Same w Hillary. Same w John Kerry.

For me, Joe Biden doesn't need a platform. He just needs to be better than Trump.

A vote for anyone but Joe is a vote for Trump plain and simple.

I agree. I would have killed for Liz or Bernie but we've always known our ultimate goal was to dump Trump

This is precisely why people say Democrats offer them NOTHING. This way of thinking. Meanwhile Trump at least offers them LIES and propaganda.
