Sometimes I wonder how different the era would have been if Gaga included "The Cure" on Joanne. It would have still fit with the theme of the album, IMO, and been a great song to get people listening.

That would've been a great idea. It'd be the Vogue of Joanne, the one that's sonically different from all the other songs on the album. And the perfect lead single.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

Hey Girl because it’s different from what the GP would expect from a Gaga single yet it’s still very good and mellow. It sends out a great message of empowerment through friendship and has Florence Welch! Would’ve been a great way to close out the era

I'm just gonna admit it, if Hey Girl was a single it wouldn't been pretty big, maybe not as big as the other singles, or maybe even bigger, but if we got a music video and live performances imagine how big this song could have been! :vegas:

Dancin' In Circles is so good, catchy, hit potential, radio friendly, that I'm offended it wasn't on the radio. It's got an Alejandro composition and vibe to it. Ugh !

Kind regards

Diamond Heart or Million Reasons should have been the lead, with the opposite following as second single.

Joanne (Piano) is a buzz single, A-Yo is third single.

Das it.

This would’ve worked well:

1. Perfect Illusion + MV - August 26, 2016 (VMAs)

2. Million Reasons - November 1, 2016 (Carpool, AMAs, SNL, SBHS)

3. John Wayne - February 28, 2017

4. Dancin In Circles - May 2, 2017

Anything released after PI would've been a flop tbh, the GP clearly lost interest in the era after PI, MR was struggling to hit top 10 on BB despite being performed 46726373 times, and JW didn't even chart.

John Wayne should have been the lead imo. I think it was classic Gaga enough to be a smarter bridge between ARTPOP and the new americana tinged Joanne. As a 4th single though im not sure.....I would've liked to see Grigio Girls get some kind of single treatment. I think it couldve done well. As much as I like Diamond Heart, might be my favorite off the album, I just don't know if I see it resonating beyond the fanbase. Its a little too....idk how to put it....something about her vocal delivery makes it not radio friendly imo.

Yeah had it not been for the Superbowl, Million Reasons would not have rebounded like that.

John Wayne was not a single though, fyi, she just released a visual treatment for it, as she did for the Joanne piano ballad.
