Gaga described the original LG5 as an earworm?

She gives more a Joanne vibe with the guitar and the cowboy boots. Maybe Joanne was originally the redone album but more pop :hor:

That was probably when they were writing Angel Down :legend:

Like...

It's so much different to a redone song...:giggle: See: Ava max

Maybe she should draft him in for the no doubt HAC album after Chromatica

Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight

joanne is trash. i don’t get how people say otherwise.

It seems like only the most ardent of Lady Gaga supporters say otherwise.

It wasn't that successful commercially. Joanne sold less than her other solo albums and is the first Gaga album to not go multi-platinum. I'd argue it wouldn't have even gone Platinum if not for her name and (IMO) the fact that Perfect Illusion was so catchy, which made people get the album because they expected similar content.

It was a huge letdown.

i think it's a "radio friendly" song only because it's the lead single and her comeback to her dance pop roots ..

But absolutely it's not an "earworm" ala badromance-pokerface etc

I have a feeling that is coming up, gonna be servedT :)

Joanne and ARTPOP are easily my favorite Gaga albums.

I don't think there's a middle ground. The GP loves TF/TFM, some stans like TF through BTW, other stans (like myself) say each album is better than the last.

At least we can all agree she's a legend :gayhat:

For me, I'm weird because I prefer her "middle" era - TFM and BTW were my favorites. I don't want to come off as a hater because I love her work, just Joanne didn't quite do it for me?

But I will say Joanne *does* have some of my favorite songs, despite me not vibing with the album as a whole. I fell in love with Just Another Day, Grigio Girls, and Million Reasons.

Even Gaga at her least-best is still better than 90% of the artists out there. So definitely a legend. :) <3

I would love to see some of these songs release years from now, maybe as a box set collection of demos and unreleased songs.

I’m still thrilled with what we got, Joanne is my favorite Gaga album.

We know for a fact LG5 was never a concrete project, around this time and for about 12 months after, she was just playing around to find where she wanted to go and it wasn't until she worked with Mark she found direction.

In between C2C to Joanne she worked with RedOne and Paul, then Nile Rogers and Giorgio Moroder (back when AHS was influencing her music aka she was considering a more 70s disco album) briefly before finally working with Mark and writing Joanne in the fields behind her Malibu home.

I think she knew she wanted a more "authentic" album and wanted more real instruments in her music, Nile wanted to work with her to have her name attached to their [Chic's] comeback album for publicity, Moroder wanted to make hits with her, DJWS probably didn't wanna do work on a less electronic album and was busy with his own stuff, and Nadir wanted to recreate their early magic.

I dont want her Nadir tracks to leak I wanna hear those Moroder tracks.

They just keep torturing us with how great this music could have been, whats the point? Just release it already, if she randomly released The Cure, I don’t see why she can’t release Frankensteined as a standalone single
