No one works as hard as him and that's why he's in the position he's in? incredibly delusional. Yeah, working hard isnt always equal to material success, it can be gratifying success, for example health workers, firefighers and whatnot. They work very hard and they measure the success with the level of gratification they get from the job. He's also implying that being in a mansion and whatnot is envied by everyone in this world, that they work to get what he has, but some people really love the simple life, and creating meaningin their day to day. I don't think he was self aware when he said these words, but to me deep down, subconsciously he thinks that material success must be the only success that exists. DeleteMyAccount 11,881
The lack of optics from some people is quite disturbing. What he said wasn't "bad". It's not like he said something racist... Just like when Trump says we've done the most testing but in reality we're doing terrible in regards to testing per million compared to other countries. But the fact that Bieber had to reiterate his class because he has worked hard is so out of touch with reality. Everyone works hard. It's just that for some reason more money goes to him and models. For once could you not flaunt about your riches and just be relatable. The only outrage coming from this are the people made about people being mad at Bieber. And that's a waste of time. Privileged yes, but not rich. While I don't like Kendall, I think we have to keep in mind that she has given up a lot. She wasn't allowed a normal childhood like other children were, and had to live in the public's eye while she did most of her growing. Being famous sounds nice, but it's not a nice position to feel like somebody has no privacy. And she's had to deal with that since being 11, probably without much say in the situation. All I’m saying is she wouldn’t be where she is if it wasn’t for being part of the Kardashian/Jenner family, so saying they’ve all worked hard for what they have is kind of hollow. I’m sure growing up in the public eye is hard (and being marketed like crazy by Kris), but it’s not like she’s self made or anything reality’s tight if the music is right

While I doubt he wrote all his music himself, he did put out an EP in 2009 and followed that up with a LP every year for 3 years while being on the road every year from 2009 to 2013. That itself is 4 years straight of continued pressure by his label and manager, probably his own mother, and the GP.

She definitely had an advantage going into her career, but she isn't Paris Hilton.
Squidward T 2,240
I am disgusted at statements like "stars work hard so they deserve what they have." No, Justin got lucky. Many people work hard everyday and most of their lives to have 2% of what celebrities have. My father works 18 hours a day just to keep a roof over his head. I am so sick of influencer and social media culture, its sooo toxic. And another thing, you don't hear gaga say "I work hard so I deserve everything I have." Your father working hard doesn't invalidate others' work though. There's no doubt in my mind that 18 hours of work a day is truly exhausting, but lets not minimize what others have done. Well I agree with that, its just that the way I see it, he had a lot of people carrying and placing the bricks in his life road, he just had to walk them, while for example Gaga, fabricated, polished, carried and placed her own bricks herself. I can't disagree that Justin had a lot of his life laid out for him, but I think it's hard for us to relate with him even then. I'm not sure how old you are, but I remember all the pressure from people in my life to be certain things as a teenager. Justin was in the eyes of millions and "grew up" (or didn't) in front of us. I could only imagine having to meet certain standards not just in front of those millions of viewers, but the people who signed him as well as his family. On top of that there's probably all the fake friends he had and people who used him. Comparing him with Gaga isn't quite fair because Gaga was in a completely different stage of life than Justin when she was making her way up, and Gaga was meant to be breaking the norms, while Justin was confined to it. I don't want to excuse all of Justin's behavior nor do I think he should still be acting that way, but I can see why Justin became so problematic. hELXIG 43,311
Okay here's the problem: most rich people feel entitled to have millions more than others do, and they lose compassion for those who struggle in life. A full time worker at a minimum wage job works their ASS off to earn pennies. Justin Bieber hasn't worked harder for his money and privilege than a lot of people who have worked just as hard and barely have a fraction of what he has. Gaga realises her privilege and is still connected with regular humanity. That's the difference between her and 90% of celebrities. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
