You voted for Hillary in 2016 lmao stop with this holier-than-thou stuff People can vote for Biden over Sander and Trump because they think he would be the best president out of the lot. It isn't (wasn't) unreasonable to imagine a Sanders administration that simply couldn't pass any major piece of legislation because he is a staunch ideologue. Enough! To be clear, because here we go again with the falsehoods, I voted for Sanders in the 2016 primary, and then later voted for Clinton in the general. So do you prefer we not vote for Biden or?? Because there is no alternative candidate. Unless you want us to vote for Trump. No thank you.

Those people are lost causes and they've made that clear a million times over. I realize that you genuinely (and hilariously) seem to think that "sad" reactions are a form of violence, but those people have been attacking the one candidate that wanted to deliver the same social programs to the United States that every single industrialized country on earth already has, to deliver a climate change plan that could prevent the world from falling apart when we're on the verge of climate catastrophe, to try to save millions of students and sick people from drowning under mountains of debt that they'll never be able to cast off themselves. They trashed that person and those ideas relentlessly; I reacted "sad" to posts that I found especially egregious on a Lady Gaga forum. The fact that you've felt the need to chime in and chide me and other Sanders supporters like a condescending school-marm for months, the fact that you felt like THAT was how you should spend your time, the fact that "uncouth" behavior inspired you to jump into these conversations rather than the need to push back against these dishonest actors is... "sad." I guess "sad" would be the way I'd describe that reality. He wasn't the only candidate that wanted to deliver those social programs. Good God girl. It's eerily similar to Trump's comment of, "I alone can fix it." That alone make everything in this comment complete nonsense. Also, you guys completely trashed the other progressive candidate. Chromatican 4,046
Trump is going to be the first impeached president to win re-election now. Hopefully we can get a progressive candidate in the White House in 2024. I'm absolutely devastated and at a loss right now. This is a blow to democracy and decency. My hopes and dreams have been torpedoed by this. I will try to enjoy life, but I can't be a proud American with Trump as commander in chief. I went spiraling into a depression after the 2016 election and just started recovering. I just hope we can learn from the disastrous 2016 and (what looks to be) 2020 campaigns and start focusing on policy and the greater good over electability and cynical political agendas bought and sold by billionaires. He had the best policies girl. Unwavering Medicare for All support, best foreign policies, best at dealing with homelessness, and I'm too distraught to list all the ways he was the superior candidate among the rest of them. No he didn't. Warren had a 10 page policy for LGBTQ+ community. Bernie had 5 bullet points on his website. Warren had a much better plan for the African American community which is why she was endorsed by one of the founders of BLM. Those are just two example of Warren policies that were better than Bernie's. So your comment has lost its validity. Warren was hardly aggressive in support for Medicare for All. In fact, she stopped talking about it and pivoted to doing Pete’s plan, which I’ve argued multiple times goes beyond the individual mandate and is too punitive. With regard to climate change, Biden had the worst score out of everyone. Bernie had the best per scientists and activist communities. The only person who came close was Warren, who actually wasn’t terrible on this specific issue. Bernie was the only candidate who supported cancelling all student loan debt and medical debt. As studies show the most effective way to decrease wealth inequality between white black and Latino is to eliminate student debt (w/o getting into overhaul of every institution and structural force in our country). Warren’s plan was means tested, would only cancel some of the debt and wouldn’t change the monthly expenditures for many students at the end of the day. It would make it easier to pay off but not make an immediate impact. Additionally, depending on your zip code, simply means testing by income bracket could inadvertently prevent some people who need relief from getting relief. Again, Warren had a good plan that was better than today’s reality but Bernie’s plan was better. Anyome other than Warren among the mainstream candidates were no where near perfect and didn’t have solutions that would have actually worked. And as we saw with the corona virus bill, for all of Warren’s comments about being effective, even though she was no longer in the race she was unable to move any levers of power to get any of the really good solutions she had to offer on providing relief during this crisis. So, I don’t see how one could look at Warren and see anything better. Unless your primary focus was on gender and social issues there really wasn’t much that Warren had that Bernie didn’t already offer (maybe filibuster elimination but I don’t support that even though some progressives do). Warren couldn't fundraise nearly as well as Bernie, and didn't even do well among minorities with those supposed policies. Bernie's M4A plan was the most trans inclusive plan being proposed, and his protections were the best for minorities across the board. Elizabeth Warren's plans were similar, but overall weaker, especially foreign policy. Bernie slayed the Latino vote, unlike the supposed Cherokee candidate. GoodShipApplause 121
I know people dont care about polls anymore, but Biden is polling better than Bernie f.y.i. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_biden-6247.html https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_sanders-6250.html So, atleast at the moment, I dont get the claims that Bernie is the stronger candidate against Trump. Warren’s plan for LGBT is great. No disagreement there but Bernie’s push for Medicare for All and the inclusion of trans healthcare is more than Warren can say. As for plans on race, It’s actually not clear to me that Bernie or Warren were really better. It just depends on the issue. Bernie’s plans on rent control/redlining, incarceration/weed/criminal justice and overall economic message (wages, unions, healthcare, student debt, credit card rate cap, etc) are all things that would go far to repair race relations. If I remember you are a landlord so let’s just agree to disagree on rent control. Either way, Warren’s plans on race aren’t bad but the whole package makes Bernie better. 🤷🏻♂️

We have to stop thinking the way we thought about politics, electability and polling the way we always have. Post-Trump is a new ballpark. We don't know if Biden is actually stronger because we haven't even seen him debate Trump, but something tells me someone who calls himself an O'Biden Bama Democrat and thinks he is running for the US Senate won't fare well in that arena. Bernie has more Latino support, youth support and does well with Independent voters, all key demos needed for a Democratic nominee. Biden's support is super unenthused and vote for him out of the illusion of necessity, not real passion.
