I agree whole heartedly. I defined polite as not going after ideas in that reply. I mostly go for people’s ideas, and they’re saying that’s enough for a warm pancake, and I just strongly disagree. A vote for candidate A is a candidate A and the last I checked, a democracy means that you get to vote for whoever you would like to see in a political position. The amount of abuse and bullying that comes from democrats that expect progressives to vote for more moderate candidates that continue to do nothing to compromise to the left on policy but does play the blame game when things don’t go their way is beyond reasonable. That kind of behavior is rampant in threads like this by a minority of members in the community. The moderation team would do well to recognize it for the abusive behavior that it is and that the quality of political discourse be fueled by documentation and links. Producing a source for discussion creates a higher quality debate & it also prevents unnecessary arguing that many, myself included, get into because some users tend to rely on toeing the line between acceptable and warn worthy posts that often bait others into aggressive responses. @MJHolland literally making my point in the post below.
