Bernie would still be able to impress during the three debates against Trump. Biden seems to be mentally deteriorating and Trump and his marketing team will drag him to hell and back. Democrats are hoping that the economy does so bad due to this pandemic BUT the narrative that Trump is solely responsible is not sitting well with voters when we all know that China is mainly responsible.

It was time. There was no way to catch up, especially with no ability to campaign. Everyone knew this was coming. 

Biden’s Twitter statement was highly complimentary of Sanders and was Presidential. Trump would have sent out something like, “Loser! Crazy Bernie...”.

Biden and Bernie respect each other, I appreciate them both being decent and respectful at this time.

I'll say what I said over a year ago. Bernie has always been a modern day Eugene V. Debbs, with the ideas to match. He was destined to always be the bridesmaid here. We all know and can admit that Bernie isn't  a Democrat, has never been a Democrat, and he was never going to win a national Democratic election.  Why he didn't try to run as an Independent is baffling. Now if his bernouts could figure out how politics really  work, and actually take a seat at the table and influence policy, rather than blather online about how Biden is a senile old rapist (2016 Clinton is a disease riddled, dying, evil pedophile ring-master teas) then maybe they could actually get something substantial done. Real legislation to hang their hat on, rather than just screams into the internet void. Because y'all sure are loud, but then what? That's the question.

Let’s also just look at what lost her 2016; it was Trump’s strategy which, frankly, was better devised going after delegate-rich areas that had been overlooked. Ridiculous as it was, it was only a good campaign because Hillary didn’t visit those places as well and thought she’d coast to the presidency. There’s *a lot* of factors that went into her 2016 loss and it’s totally naive to place sole blame on the few people who stayed home because Bernie wasn’t the nom. It wasn’t like a mass movement and what’s more don’t blame people for not voting when it should be the candidate’s job to court votes. If they can’t do that then they’re in the wrong line of work (that’s not to say I think Hillary is a bad politician; she’s a great civil servant and incredibly competent, but she is plainly not very good at being publicly-facing as being president requires).

People are already assuming similar for Biden, with lots of people saying this will be an easy battle against Trump when it's not just true. All Trump has to do it say "Look, they appointed Biden, my work isn't done yet the swamp still needs draining" and the same voters will elect him again this November

It's hard to believe that just over a month ago Biden's campaign was dead in the water scrambling to stay out of last place and Bernie was the frontrunner.

Super Tuesday really wrecked everything and now the Democrats are stuck with a candidate who's even weaker than Hillary was
