But for real, this is scary if animals are being infected. Thank goodness my dog is tiny and doesn't like walks anyway – chasing her around the house and backyard is enough physical activity for her. (I've heard mixed things about dogs catching it; there was a Pomeranian in Hong Kong who tested positive.)

It has been reported that cats are affected so it seems felines are the most suspectible to the virus. The good news are that dogs don't seem to be infected by it as easily.
