Gaga achieved the best selling female era of all time in the US with her peak. Katy had 6 #1s from one album and Rihanna—where do I even begin. That is true but that was a different era of music consumption. These artists thrived with single sales because of iTunes etc, whereas earlier artists slayed more with album sales, look at britney, for example, with two diamond albums (like how Gaga has two diamond singles) so it’s not much of an indicator of ‘great’

Lord Temptation 11,209
Late 90s/Early 2000s also had: Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, the ex Spice Girls, TLC, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne. So I think it’s an even split between Late 90s-Early 00s and Late 00s/Early 2010s, simply because the talent was so strong in the first, but more diverse in the second. She have the voice, the stage presence, the talent, the looks. She basically became queen of pop overnight.

You can't compare artists with diamond albums (britney, Mariah, Madonna) with artists who sold singles because they are not the same level

Ive been her fan ever since she released Electricity and FN is already my most listened to album this year but she still has to prove herself. Don’t put that pressure on her yet. She’ll reach there. She’s clearly the most talented and gorgeous pop girl of this generation

Everybody was makig fun of her dancing and then boom! She prove everybody wrong. (Not that she had to but she did) 2. She already "reach" there and went beyond. Future Nostalgia it's an album that most pop girls wishes to have in her catalogue. Is flawless, original, cohesive and literaly timeless. The only artist that come close to have such a specific vision its probably Madonna with Ray of light and then Confessions. 3. You don't need to have a 20 or 30 year old career to stablish yourself as a main icon. You can do it in a very short period of time if you know what you want and you go for it. Gaga did it with Bad Romance Britney with Toxic. 4. She is the most powerful female artist at the moment and she will take Madonna's title of queen of pop. Trust me. 5. Just like Madonna, she will still be performing and looking flawless when she hits 50 or 60 years old. She gives me that vibe, she seems extremely hardworking plus she strikes me as the kind of person that likes to be healthy and fit both mentally and phisically. 6. She is very humble, kind, not pretentious or problemaric. She will rise without drama.

Their peaks and careers have been INSANELY successful, heck in the 90s and early 2000s it was Britney mania. To compare Dua's hype to anything Britney, Madonna, etc had is crazy as it is nowhere near the level of theirs. i like Dua and i hope she is successful but she has in no way shape or form 'overtaken' musical legends and if you think she will that will take A LOT of work, i understand you're a stan of hers and admire that I just can't fathom that you are saying Dua's music catalogue is better than Britney's, Madonna's, Gaga's etc. i mean no disrespect but Dua is nowhere near a legend or iconic and achieved anything near as much as the artists i have mentioned. Dua's career right now is literally nothing compared to the peak's of other artists. I hope Dua is still around in years to come and continues to make good music, please do not get offended by what i have said as I did not mean it to come across as horrible

New popstars reach their peaks later in their career. Look at Billie, been trying for years, Ariana too and they might not even be at their peak yet. And yes, Future Nostalgia is better than most Britney albumes. Maybe even better than in the zone and Blackout. Its not better than Ray of Light or Born this way tho. But she will the the main artists in the planet. She will be Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, The Beatles level with Marilyn Monroe iconic status. Book mark me.
