FfFfFfFF 58,133
A wolf was spotted on the Zuid Veluwe for the first time, said nature conservation service Natuurmonumenten announced on Friday. Wildlife cameras even captured the wolf. The Veluwe is a forest-rich ridge of hills in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands that feature many different landscapes, including woodland, heath, some small lakes and Europe's largest sand drifts that naturally attract wildlife. According to forester Andre ten Hoedt, they've been waiting "quite a while" for wolves to show up in Zuid Veluwe. "This area is extensive and has a lot of wildlife - a perfect ambient for the wolf. Researchers are also looking forward to seeing if he/ she will also settle in the forest now that he found it. The news are especially exciting since wolves returned to Dutch forests in 2019 after being extinct for more than a century.
