Display Me 2,706
French Wiki: "Queer is an English word meaning "strange", "unusual", "bizarre" or "twisted", it is used to designate all sexual minorities and genders: people with a different sexuality and / or gender identity heterosexuality or cisidentity." MetalliGa 8
I never expected to get emotional twice in one day because of Rebecca Black! First, because she sings on Man Man's new album and one of the songs, "If Only" is heartbreakingly beautiful. The advance stream just came out today. And now this

It’s true that I could have pointed out right away in which ways their comment was not appropriate. I see that most people perceived my own comments as rude, so I definitely should have been more careful. I’m sorry. I do think it’s unfortunate that we see my response ("this information is available for you to find") as aggressive versus theirs (writing the definition for queer and saying it doesn’t make sense). It may be that as a queer person myself I felt attacked by that specific comment. I don’t think such a comment would feel appropriate in person, so I think it should be called out here as well. All in all, I just want us to be mindful of how we decide to ask for information in this space.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to understand. If a person can only be attracted to one or two sexes (or none), then what other options are we talking about here? Farm animals? I'm all for being inclusive and accepting, but we are now getting to the point where people want to create labels for any random thought that pops into their head, thus causing more and more people to roll their eyes at actually being inclusive. People out there trying to talk about their sexual preference being intelligence or "energy"....

Queen Bitch 10,513
You see, when even some LGBT people get confused, maybe it's a sign that there is too many labels. Monosexual, polysexual, allosexual, stargender, neurogender, neutrois, aporagender, novigender, affectugender, anxiegender, xenogender etc. etc. It goes on and on. Xenogender alone has 83 variants!!!! You can't really blame some for being confused.
Charliie 1,804
Thank you guys for clarifying. We are all part of this community and some of us are still confused with these terms. I appreciate the ones who took the time and love to spread their knowledge when asked. It takes more than a google search to fully understand. I actually learned a lot today! ❤️

People out there trying to talk about their sexual preference being intelligence or "energy".... Ok so I totally agree that sapiosexual in particular is actually problematic in many ways. There are probably other such examples. But if we’re talking about queer, or some other of the most popular "labels" out there: I think they’re important! It’s not just about the "two sexes" (gender would probably be a more appropriate term in this context), because those labels are not limited to sexual orientation, but also gender identity. If we agree that gender is a spectrum and not limited to the binary (man vs woman) that we’re taught, there are so many options! And we’re trying to label some of them because some of those labels work for people who didn’t have one before. For instance, gay can be considered a label. I’m so thankful that it exists because I can identify with it, the culture that surrounds it and the other people who identify with it. That goes for any label!
