The song is incredibly underwhelming. The video is incredibly underwhelming. There was practically zero promotion. The song leaked 6 weeks in advance and her team did next to nothing about it.  And only a month after its release the world entered a colossal pandemic. All things considered I think we should take the #5 peak, be grateful, move on with our lives and leave this mess in the past

Hopefully radio carries the song to a wider exposure, but it seems unlikely tbh. The song was never as sure hit, it sounds like nothing currently on the radio, it's a little experimental and is definitely a grower and not a shower  (dont get any dirty thoughts on that last part)

hardly a mess tbh. interscope POURED dollar and payola in to stupid love, I really dont understand why everyone keeps forgetting that??? it was #1 on every big streaming playlists, she has billboards, and banners on iTunes. they even added it to tiktok (although that didnt do too much)... doesn't matter that the song leaked. most of the gp probably didnt even listen to the leak, you had to KNOW how to find that leak to listen to it too.

the song is a grower and it's not exactly the sound of a current pop hit, that's all there is to it. I think the song is certified bop and my favourite lead, tied with applause. shocked you found the video and it's choreography underwhelming. haven't we all been craving that **** for years!??

I hate to say this but I’ve had no desire to play the song. I’ve been playing Future Nostalgia non stop. 
SL is more of a novelty cause we’ve been waiting for a new Gaga single for so long, but after leaking a while ago we all moved on. Even Gaga.

Obviously not, even her fans kind of forgot about SL and embraced Dua. SL was a cool song but that was about it. Maybe the second single will be the hit.

my biggest country's radio embrace it and played it frequently when it is released. Perfect Illusion is what u mean, her worst lead single. 

 

before the covid-19 hysteria, it was exciting and pumping to hear SL in car radio, it feels like a Need for Speed euphoric. but of course it feels off with the covid and we don't go out with car unless extremely needed and thus not listening to radio. and it's perfect for treadmill, exercise, and gym, but again covid sabotages the euphoria SL could vibe when doing those. 

 

And it's not exactly comfortable to listen in a quarantine days like this. maybe it will vibe to us when the pandemic finally ends, as a celebratory soundtrack.
