gumzy3000 7,161 Posted March 31, 2020 Share Posted March 31, 2020 I would say that the early 2010s had also a lot of indie bands and indie artists who were mixing in with the mainstream music scene (Foster the People, Lorde, etc). You also had pop dance tunes dominating the charts. EDM was also slowly growing from 2010 but I think it came to halt around 2016 and never really recovered. Also around 2016, rap/hip hop/mumble rap became huge and this is now the dominant genre.
