On this day in 1995, the Queen of Tejano was murdered by the president of her fan club and manager of her boutiques, Yolanda Saldivar. Selena, who was only 23, was on the verge of global superstardom, after conquering the Latin market, she was working on her first English-language album, which was released posthumously under the title Dreaming of You and became a huge success, selling 175,000 copies on its first day alone.
