Can you come up with something else other than thinking in “Americans vs. the rest of the world?” Okay this is why I suggested watching the The Hill’s The Rising bc the male host is a conservative and actually spilled about how unwanted Trump was by Washington GOP members. I’m not an economist, I just listen to them. You keep bringing up cultural issues and it’s just not the full story and not what I’m disagreeing about. and lastly, I already explained why the votes and opinions don’t match up. Please stop bringing that up, mental manipulation is not something to be proud of. Especially now that you have a candidate worse off than Hillary Clinton was... The 2018 election was about healthcare. Dems who pushed for better healthcare won. This is why M4A has popular support among Dems, and more expensive and criel status quo, doesn’t. and idk why you hate TYT but like they were more accurate about the 2016 election. I stan them bc - they point out MSM’s shortcomings with history, data and explanations - provide a realistic POV that doesn’t over emphasize culture - are people powered and know they can be canceled financially if they’re caught as consistent liars - MSM can’t relate I don’t see the downside. Neoliberal reality has lead to income inequality and social unrest. It’s cancelled. The 2018 election was about Trump. The same people that came out in the midterms are coming out for Biden now. You “standing” TYT tells me everything I need to know. People powered, lol. Look how Cenk failed miserably in his election bid. Moderates won in 2018 and beat your guy. Yeah he should have had better explanations but do you know what’s also unappealing? The pain of not meeting the moment causes. Again, he did broaden his reach, but it’s just so unfair bc neoliberal news sources chose to critique Bernie’s platform and pushed stupid drama like the sexism claim and the heart attack mess. Also please stop saying Bernie is no FDR it’s not funny anymore after the 3737th time. Both rose up in times of economic despair. Both pushed for democratic socialist ideas. Both were loved by the people. Both were extremely hated by the rich. This is what I mean by Bernie = FDR. Joe Biden doesn’t come close. Pete's coalition was ideologically pretty balanced. It wasn't diverse enough because minority voters and the broader electorate didn't know him enough and he hadn't run for president before and wasn't a senator or VP etc. But he did drop out when he saw no path to the nomination and gained the goodwill of voters to put party and country over his own ego unlike ahem, Bernie. It's a fact that nobody except Biden had the diverse winning coalition. SC, Michigan, Florida, Mississippi etc. proved that. It's sad that you and others who consistently accused him of speaking in "platitudes" (whatever the hell that means in a political context) lacked nuance to understand simple, basic political statements. Tsk tsk Hope you're enjoying losing the primary as you played your part to continue to alienate other Democrats who supported other candidates. Stay pressed and seethe because Bernie lost his last chance to become the President as the "revolution" never materialized in the numbers he needed while Pete will be a true force for the next many decades to come as his name recognition improves and he quite possibly gets a cabinet position in a Biden administration #FeelTheBern I knew exactly what you were talking about, I just thought it was hilarious that you’re puffing Pete up when he lost because he couldn’t appeal to POC. It’s also hard to gain the support of people when you blatantly lie about getting their support and just shrug your shoulders when you get caught Expanding his political coalition and failing to win the popular vote of the first three primaries, what an achievement Bernie is staying in the race so that he can influence Biden to accept some progressive policies, which has already worked. Spoiler Ahead of 11th Democratic debate of the 2020 primary, former Vice President Joe Biden is adopting two new policy proposals, extending an olive branch to supporters of more progressive candidates like Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren as he inches closer to securing the Democratic nomination. On a call with reporters Sunday afternoon, senior advisers to Biden announced the former vice president now supports making public colleges and universities tuition-free for students whose families earn less than $125,000 a year. That proposal comes from a bill Sen. Sanders originally introduced in 2017 called the College-for-All act, and is a notable addition to Biden’s current higher education policy, which would make community colleges free for two years, regardless of income. "Bernie has put forward a plan that would make public colleges and universities free for families whose income is below $125,000. It's a good idea, and after consideration, I am proud to add it to my platform,” Biden tweeted Sunday. Biden also announced his endorsement of Elizabeth Warren’s bankruptcy plan, which would largely undo a 2005 law the two famously sparred over in the past. During a virtual town hall with Illinois voters on Friday night, Biden revealed his endorsement while answering a question from a participant about actions he would take to appeal to supporters of his current rival Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, should he win the Democratic nomination. "One of the things that I think Bernie and I agree on ... I've endorsed Elizabeth Warren's bankruptcy proposal, which in fact goes further, allows for student debt to be released in bankruptcy, [and] provides for a whole range of other issues that allows us to in fact impact on how people are dealing with their circumstances," Biden said. "So there's a whole range of things we agree on." https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/unexpected-shift-events-biden-endorses-warrens-bankruptcy-plan/story?id=69599659 How can you chastise and condescend others when you can’t even understand basic political calculations and strategies? A concept I hope you’ve enjoyed supporting a fraud that had to lie and use cheap gimmicks to get ahead of his rivals and still lost. Meanwhile Bernie was able to pull the party further to the left than it had been in more than 40 years and bring issues like major healthcare reform, money in politics and raising the minimum wage to the forefront. Only someone that was tone deaf and ignorant would try to shade that kind of progress. Also you’re trying to say how I’m alienating Democrats while you’re here voter shaming people because they’re not voting how you want them to. When media attacks candidate’s health despite multiple doctors letters saying they were fine, that’s what I can’t stand. Bernie’s heart attack was handled with clown gloves bc Doctors said he was healthy post heart attack before the whole media mess in early 2020. Don’t only acknowledge it when it benefits “moderates.” The only kid’s glove I see hear is not being allowed to talk about Biden’s clear mental decline while he’s vying for a position that requires a strong mind, and something Trump won’t ignore Omg nobody said Bernie was the president... already explained why this people > policy framing doesn’t work in the post you didn’t reply to yet tho. Also I don’t know what’s not clicking when I said people voted against their hearts. Warren is also FDR-like too in her polices... I think? She folded on the most important DSA policy so I can’t tell what she stands for as of today 💀 And okay, you mind summarizing it then, as I have TYT (again literally 1/5 progressive sources I watch so like okay fixation I guess) ideals for you? I also saw you roaming around in Warren threads calling her a snake etc. Archetypal toxic Bernie Bro. The only reason Pete didn't win this time was because enough voters didn't know the mayor of fourth largest town of Indiana and chose an ex-VP and a two-time presidential candidate over him. Yet he still managed to change the perception about LGBTQ+ candidates in national politics, became the first openly gay candidate to win a presidential primary state and secure delegates AND amassed over 1M donors and 2M+ donations in less than a year. But you probably won't understand that because you're too busy hating him and the progress he made. You also really don't have to minimize the progress of other candidates to validate the progress made by your own. A concept probably too hard for you to understand I've always credited Bernie for his ideas and have always commended him for shifting the Overton window. Check my posts. As I said earlier, great ideas, terrible politics. He just didn't know how to expand his support beyond I just don't agree with his politics because I don't believe he can achieve his goals and his campaign's and his supporters' rhetoric didn't ever help him either and made his movement more toxic and alienating as time passed. And there's literally other Bernie supporters in this same thread that are chastising those 15% and rejecting them for not being part of their movement because it's common sense that if they believe in progressive policies they shouldn't be voting for Trump and aren't in it for the right reasons. But you feel okay with that and are quick to point me out and conflate that with "voter shaming". Maybe you're a cosplay socialist too after all, not that I care in the least How are the rat and snake emojis working for you again mr. another-leftist-keyboard-warrior-who-excels-at-coalition-building? Cry more please, I think you're coping reaaally well with Bernie losing the primary. Keep it up. Let's use better labels for this context: Bernie and non-Bernie supporters, since ideological lines on the left are clearly not as well defined as you think they are. The whole primary has anyway been about the Bernie vs. a Bernie alternative race. Plus, there are progressives who support candidates not named Bernie and centrists who support Bernie. And non-Bernie supporters could literally use the same argument and say that Bernie supporters are more interested in defeating non-Bernie supporters than they are interested in defeating Trump, since the OP is about those 15% who would support Trump over Biden in a GE, in case you forgot.
