Girl no, the party had a chance to go back to it’s glorious American FDR democrat ways but the leaders stupidly squashed that. It was possible for Democratic Socialists to stay, neoliberals just pulled the wrong move yet again.

Idk what’s more anti-interest than voting for a candidate you don’t believe in, voting for candidates who don’t uplift their minority groups economically, and support Dems who suddenly add hours and weeks to the TimesUp clock when Joe Biden is the one to get accused.

The only blatant blaming will be from neoliberals who will blame “stupid voters” and not reflect on their platform failings. (no, Hillary didn’t lose bc of sexism) :madge:

Girl, the voters didn’t want Bernie. The large majority didn’t see him as an FDR. They didn’t want to go from Trump to Bernie.

Hillary lost for several reasons, sexism was in the mix.

A third party vote was not a vote for the Democratic Nominee. It was a throw away vote.

Third party votes gave us Trump and gave us Bush over Gore. We would be living in a different world right now if those third party voters hadn’t thrown their vote away. They are the reason we are so behind on Global Warming! Imagine what would have happened if we would have had Gore for eight years, instead of Bush.

Third party votes matter.

I agree, but that wasn’t what we were discussing.

No way am I watching TYT. That’s your problem with understanding reality.

There are more moderates than progressives.

The increase in 2018 was from moderates and those are the same voters that came out to give Biden the win.

Not you saying there’s more moderates than progressives under a poll that suggests the opposite... we just went over this. If you wanna spill the real tea, let’s acknowledge the group of independents who are so disgusted with both parties they don’t even vote. That’s a progressive stance.

The 2018 election was about healthcare. Dems who pushed for better healthcare won. This is why M4A has popular support among Dems, and more expensive and criel status quo, doesn’t.

and idk why you hate TYT but like they were more accurate about the 2016 election. I stan them bc

- they point out MSM’s shortcomings with history, data and explanations

- provide a realistic POV that doesn’t over emphasize culture

- are people powered and know they can be canceled financially if they’re caught as consistent liars - MSM can’t relate

I don’t see the downside. Neoliberal reality has lead to income inequality and social unrest. It’s cancelled.

They want his platform, and since this is a presidential race and not a Big Brother show, policy > person.

Sad they didn’t see him as and FDR democrat (a democratic socialist), bc that’s what Bernie is. That’s why I said his messaging could have been better.

I brought up sexism bc that was like her biggest talking point, along with blaming Bernie supporters. The lack of self reflection was worrying then but now Joe Biden’s campaign is essentially Hillary 2.0 (or 3.0 lol) and that’s my point. These leaders are bad bc they think they’re perfect even when they lose.

A vote for anyone other than Biden is a vote for Trump

We must get him out of office. We must end this national nightmare. People are literally dying right now because of his fecklessness yet you sit here too proud to coalesce. This sentiment is exactly why Bernie and his supporters did not deserve to clinch the nomination.

America is a democracy. If the voters choose Trump over Biden, it’s bc Biden’s platform/campaign wasn’t better than Trump’s. The only democrat that deserves to secure the nomination is the one with the most popular platform (Bernie).

Pay attention: Joe Biden is doing less about this virus than either Trump or Bernie. He’s the least deserving of the nomination in all actuality.

Imagine being so priveleged that you have the option of picking trump, because your candidate didn’t win. How ****ing selfish. Yes there needs to be a revolution with Democrats- but the GOP is united. They aren’t struggling. Trump wins 2020, and another GOP, possibly Pence wins 2024. Good job Bernie bros.

Imagine being so priveleged that you have the option of picking your feelings, over the climate crisis that will doom our future generations, student debt that is crushing a generation and delaying families, and medicare for all that doesn’t leave 68k+ dying bc of a broken and inhumane healthcare system.

Good job “democratic” Biden Bros.

To actually answer this properly tho :billie::

The only reason the GOP is united is bc GOP revolutionaries exist, and the corporate Republicans failed to stop them. Democratic elites foolishly succeeded to stop us unfortunately, and that’s why we’re not united. Republican reign is probably secure, but blame the mediocre Biden platform, bc votes have to be earned in a democracy.

No, this is called vote shaming. All I’m saying is choosing Biden because trump is terrible when both are freaking rapists is ridiculous. I refuse to vote for a rapist and that means I can’t vote for Biden or Trump. If the Democratic Party wants my vote they would prevent Biden from being the nominee. The Democratic Party is a private corporation and could hand pick the nominee if they wanted to. So if they really believe in me too and believe women they would not choose Biden as their nominee. Full stop and I’d appreciate it if you would quit trying to tell me to vote for a warmongering right wing rapist because I’m not doing it.

Biden is the nominee. People are voting for him in large numbers. I wish it wasn't true but...it is. Bernie failed to broaden his base. There are a bunch of reasons. In the end, Bernie could've done things differently and he failed. Just like Warren & Hillary had shortcomings & failed. That's how politics works.

If you're upset about your choices, try again next time in a primary. In the general, you should vote to reduce harm. If you're not voting for biden in the general, I envy your privilege.

You aren’t we.

The GOP is united, because they fall in line. They fall in line because of many reasons, the main one being abortion.

If votes have to be earned, then isn’t the mediocre Bernie platform to blame?

Oh don’t worry, progressive leftists will never give up. We will be here to promote an agenda that works for all, at any opportunity.

But please no with this “should vote” narrative, yes please yes to a “should have offered a better platform”, bc ykno, that’s how a democracy works.

and to the privilege thing, no at that framing. Just no:

Different voters want different parts of it, in different ways. His my way or the highway rhetoric style wasn’t appealing. If he had been able to broaden his base and make more people feel comfortable with his policy, they would have voted for him.

Bernie is no FDR.

It really wasn’t, but she had good reason to point out the sexism, just like the women candidates in this election cycle have pointed out.
