gypsy101 5,453 Posted March 30, 2020 Share Posted March 30, 2020 i think they both fantastically achieve what they were trying to. one is a cohesive piece of storytelling with moving music and words. the other is a fun bopfest with jams that give me loife mawma. obviously melodrama is a better piece of art but future nostalgia is still wonderful. Never in my 25 years (at the time it was released) of life had I ever heard such a remarkable work of ART. In fact, I just listened to it again a few nights ago and had those same emotions. Lorde managed to capture what it feels like to be in your mid-late 20's with life crumbling around you so beautifully. For that alone it's one of my all time favorite albums. Future Nostalgia is immaculate but it did not evoke that kind of emotional reaction. With FN, I want to throw on my sexiest outfit and hit the club. It's a feel good album that reminds us that in the midst of crisis and all the shiz life throws at us, we can still live and have fun. Both albums are one's that have sealed a spot among my personal favorite albums of all time. And if I ever have children, I will make sure they KNOW Melodrama and FN from start to finish.
