Hey, Guys! Hope everyones doing well and staying safe ❤️

So, I know with all this Covid-19 madness people are feeling scared, worrying about what's gonna happen.
I thought that maybe, to help people get through this time. We could all talk about some really cool artist, something to take our minds of things!
My idea was that I could create a thread about an artist, that way more people could discover them, maybe help them get thought these uncertain times, help them find new music and stuff! That way, it wont seem so dry and boring while we wait for CHROMATICA.

For the second thread, I've chosen an artist I've only recently started to stan (who I should have been years ago 😭)

Lana Del Rey!

So, put your witch hats on and drop some of your favourite songs, or performances, moments, outfits, videos, anything really, about Lana below!

Adore her. She developed so much over such a short period of time, it reminds me of Madonna's 80s run but then she just jumped almost instantly to LAP mode.

What I love most about her is that you grow as a listener too. Every new album she released turns out to be my new favorite, and it's like my taste is growing with her. That said, UV and HM did age a little bit quicker than I thought.

Anyway, SUPER excited to see where she's going next. She's a true artist.

I came into the Lana game a little bit too late unfortunately, so I never got to grow with her 😭
I've only been here since a bit before NFR, but just going back and listening to all her albums, you can see the story of her grow, evolve as an artist. It's really beautiful.
That said BTD is still my favourite album, NFR a close second. But BTD's tracks are all so heavy it's really incredible.

I think my friend told me her next album is a spoken word album? and I'm really interested to see how that turns out!

omg, ignore my dumb ass. It's a poetry book :messga::cryga:
I was told that she said 13 months after NFR is when she'll release the next album, but after this mess I wouldn't trust me

Amazingly talented, creative, a musician that knows how to to compose stunning melodies. :tony:

Honeymoon is a masterpiece and one of my ultimate favorite albums but I love all of her albums to varying degrees.

She has talked about many projects so far to be released after NFR but as you as said, we don't know if you should trust her. :poot:

- White Hot Forever (the new album, announced just a few days after NFR was released)

- Pacific Blue (the title of a covers album)

- Violet which is a spoken word album that was meant to be released in January

She has also announced that she is making music for the future Alice in Wonderland movie but I don't know when it comes out.

that's so much :saladga: hoping white hot forever isn't gonna be delayed like everything else this year.
What's Lana's track record like? Is it common for her to announce stuff and then scrap it?

In an interview a few weeks after LFL said she is already writing new songs but that is usual for her to start writing when the last album is in the mastering stage because she gets bored.. And then NFR came, 2 years later. In all the time between Mariners and NFR, she had for sure been writting many songs, and after as well.

I don't recall her scrapping projects, apart from scrapping Black Beauty which was the original Ultraviolence idea after few songs leaked. Also, I remember her announcing Music To Watch Boys To as her next album (talking about Honeymoon) in 2014, then the album came out in fall 2015.

But looking at the timeline of her releases: Born To Die 2012 -> Paradise 2012 -> Ultraviolence 2014 - > Honeymoon 2015 -> LFL 2017 -> NFR 2019, it's safe to assume the new album will come this year or next year.

Im so conflicted about choosing my favorite record. Voted for NFR perhaps because it’s the most current one.

My favorite songs from each album:

BTD: Off To The Races, Blue Jeans

Paradise: Ride, Gods and Monsters

Ultraviolence: West Coast, Old Money, Cruel World

Honeymoon: Terrence Loves You, Freak, Swan Song

LFL: Cherry, Tomorrow Never Came

NFR: Venice Bitch, F*ck I Love You, Doin Time

Overall favorites: West Coast, Young and Beautiful

Gypsy

How did I miss this!
My queen. I'm so in love with her and admire her so much. She's grown so much not only as an artist but as a person. Her music makes me so calm and happy.

If you are thinking about listening to her please do she will take you on a journey you cannot explain.
My favourite album is Ultraviolence for the depth that it conveys.
