Most of the Chinese are decent people of course but their government is a tyrannical nightmare obsessed with controlling people and that is their biggest problem. Also, in general it's kinda well know at this point that those places can be pretty racist to foreigners - a lot of people spoke out about this... Idk how I feel about it honestly - I mean, racism of any kind is bad (duh), and I encourage anyone who spots that kind of behavior to call it out, and hopefully people can work on it collectively, and individually... However, China, Japan, Korea - the cultures of those countries are so foreign to me, I don't understand them, and I'm apprehensive to even try and get to know them cuz in a lot of those societies homophobia is rampant and I try to stay away from that as much as possible, so... as a result I don't have very strong feelings about it - the best I can say is I hope they deal with it... In contrast racism in western countries towards people from China, Japan, etc I feel very strongly about, so... idk if that's a bad thing - probably, but that's my perspective on this issue It's a joke! And as someone who lives abroad, I can say that there’s a big difference between how the citizens welcomes you as a tourist and as a resident, when you are a resident it’s more likely to face racism or simply just hate..
