I just bought Haus Labs.  I feel a bit bad about the workers and did wonder if I was right to be buying it but I couldn't resist that 30% off.

The workers are probably glad to still have a job unlike so many others right now. I’m ordering some too

I love how you try to simplify it, so let me try it too. Lady Gaga made Chromatica. Lady Gaga is the face of Haus Labs. Lady Gaga postpones Chromatica because she feels bad about promoting something while this is going on and she wants the focus on finding solutions. But then, Lady Gaga's makeup brand promotes their product.

Is Haus Labs stuff new? No. But that doesn't change the fact that it's being promoted. My bigger issue is that her fulfillment team is still working to begin with. Send them home, paid. Even if the company couldn't do it, she could send them all checks privately. As for the Amazon fulfillment, if they stopped taking orders on Amazon then the Amazon fulfillment teams could focus on getting essential items out.

And as for your argument regarding us just turning our heads if we don't like what we see on HL promotion. You said pretty clearly that they are promoting their business. That promotion is open to positive and negative feedback. And there are people who are voicing their negative feedback. Who are you to tell them they shouldn't?

This is the US, we don’t do that here haha

And as for amazon, the sale is only through their website. It’s all full price on Amazon so they’re not promoting it there

Who are "we" because it seems like Shakira, LVMH (who own part of Rihanah Fenty) and straight up Jeffree Star are doing it now. https://www.popbuzz.com/internet/youtubers/jeffree-star-coronavirus-warehouse-jobs-cosmetics/

I think more well put: ignorance doesn't do that here. :vegas:

“We” is the government that creates policies for stuff like this, and, you know, late stage capitalism. We don’t even have sick pay here (some states require it, but it’s not a national thing)

This is probably a third party warehouse contracting with multiple companies. I’d be very surprised if they’re Haus Labs employees

I mean, I've loved the HL products I've bought so far but with no idea when I'll leave the house again, other than for the daily permitted exercise, it's hard to get excited about what my damn face looks like, tbh.

Not to mention not knowing how much money I’m going to take the hit for when the mid May Enigma/J&P dates are inevitably cancelled...:saladga: So, 30% off or not, it's a hard no right now from me.

I mean .. Jeffree is under the same government as HausLab right? Or do you mean that the government creates policies to stop businesses that want their employee to have proper social distancing during pandemic?

I mean it’s not mandated federally. If Jeffree wants to shut down he’s free to do so. But if others want to stay open (and the huge majority of businesses are open for online orders still), that’s their right as long as they’re implementing any required policies such as social distancing, sanitation requirements, etc. Those would be determined by the individual states

Y'all just hate not being able to have free reign to talk sh*t about anything Gaga does. Whining because a make up brand is selling make up.  You have zero room to judge.

HausOfG, for real, I'm completely on your side as to denouncing the behavior of some of here these last days, but you're mistaken me with them.

I think you probably got riled up because of more negative comments on here and thought mine was in the same trend. My original message was only a joke, yes shady, but still, "that HL should apologize for the mess from same days ago", referring to their very bad timing.
And I still stand by that.
They announced a make up bundle in the middle of chaos, when people just got the message Chromatica was postponed. I have no problem with HL releasing products during this period, but they should have been like "hey, maybe we should wait til tomorrow".

Hope you get it now. Because if not, well then there's really no way in continuing this conversation/fight, because you'd be barking up the wrong tree.

We're not forcing HausLab to close their business against their will but the government already advised non-existential business to close. The point here is Gaga herself stated that this is the time for us to mainly focus on the disease and paused her music business. Still, she leaves her make up open because it's more existential or something? She's the founder and the face of HausLab so the way her messages contradict each other make some of us questioning the authenticity of her messages.

It’s literally a funny take on Gaga’s reasoning for delaying the album. Don’t take it at face value lol

I don't take anything on GGD at face value. :billie:

I don't think she's the only one making the decisons for the business is she? She's not the sole owner. There's Sarah and I don't know who else tbh. But it's also up to them if they want to keep taking orders not just Gaga. For all we know Gaga might have said I'm taking the month off for my birthday you guys can do what you want while I'm gone. We don't really know. We saw a screenshot of the HL team conference call, surely they were discussing whether to continue during the pandemic. I'm assuming they all would have had a say in it. I don't think Gaga would have forced them, especially if the team is a bunch of friends and as laid back as it appears.

My point is we don't know what was discussed or who made the big decisions. Maybe they simply were naive and thought the fans would genuinely be happy with the birthday collection and discount. :laughga:
