Instead of releasing JW properly or DIC as a single she went with this... And didn't even give it a music video or followed it up with a pop EP like many were thinking she would. Should've kept it in the vault for the shallow part of ASIB soundtrack. Whoa chill. She released it as a gift to us fans to celebrate her headlining at Coachella. Enzoooo 377
All you have to do is make it be trendy with those terrible dances they do on Tik Tok like they did with the pop masterpiece Cannibal is that they’ve now ruined

ToxicHot 6,444
Does anyone know why it wasn't apart of ASIB? Obviously it was released around the time she was filming the movie.... The song has heavy Ally Maine vibes, and is kind of in the same "cute pop" sound as Heal Me and HBF. She even LOOKS like the Ally in the lyric video. Honestly, she literally never promoted it aside from a performance at the AMA awards (which was MONTHS later, and was just footage from the Joanne tour) so I wonder why she decided to just have it as a standalone single. She had us hyped for a Joanne re-release or new EP, and yet nothing happened. I think it should've been apart of the ASIB soundtrack, and who knows it could've been another hit after Shallow. But at least it wasn't scrapped entirely because I love it! dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!

I've always wanted Gaga to do something rock or metal period, but only if she wants to. We know she can sing rock. There are plenty of examples out there, they are all amazing!!! Pretty sure John Wayne was a single. Interscope wouldn’t pay to produce a video with someone like Jonás Åkerlund (love that my iPhone autocorrected to the correct spelling 😂) if they weren’t going to give it the single treatment. Sadly it didn’t take off, so Interscope cancelled it. Honestly the Joanne era was successful to Gaga by luck and her name. PI charted because it was her first proper single in years, and MR charted because of the Super Bowl.
MiracleGg 1,272
Do you think that many people will immediately start saying that Gaga speculates on such a topic, how she can do this, how she is not ashamed... Although if someone else would have done it all OK, it's okay.

It was like almost a completely secretive video. MR almost got like a “Shallow” treatment when it took off and was still rising when JW’s video came out Same with Joanne’s video. I don’t think either of those songs were ever actual singles. Artists put out videos for non-singles sometimes, and I’m sure after the backlash she got for MR’s video, she needed to throw a “Gaga” video in the era. Its not like she couldn’t afford to do it on her own dime if she wanted to.

I thought when artists self-fund videos they usually just copyright it to themselves? I feel like it was a test and if it took off, they would've promoted it as a single. This could be possible. Although I would think it would have at least been announced or mentioned. It never had a chance if no one knew about it. Even fans had no idea. It was just a normal post-SB day with MR finally taking off and all of a sudden there’s a random new video on her VEVO. That was a great day 😊 EDIT: or like I’ve said before, that was just a great peaceful time around here! From SB to sometime after TC’s release (When people starting having meltdowns because they convinced themselves that TC was part of an EP and it wasn’t) was a really positive energy.
