Should Gaga have released Clover instead?

Do you think she would have garnered more success if she released a song that is sonically more similar to Shallow as it's follow-up single? I feel the people were ready to accept Gaga as a new folk singer and with Stupid Love she has confused the public.

Well, not sure about that song but ASIB really levelled her up for me as a songwriter.

I think she should release whatever music she wants to regardless of genre, success or "confusion" because the reason why she is lauded as a great artist by her peers and critics is because of her versatility, ability to pivot and creative control even if her fanbase struggles to understand that. She should have released it as a freebie last year or something tho but I think they're probably saving up outtakes for an anniversary edition or something.

Clover + Shallow and ARUTW pop versions, maybe they're part of Chromatica deluxe editions in some countries, I know there are some countries with 20 songs instead of 19 and I doubt the 20th is an original exclusive song like she did with Fame, it must be a remix or something

I would love to hear them but... I would rather not have them attached to an album like Chromatica   like, I think it would be better to release an EP with the ASIB outtakes rather than including them on an album... like its still attached to ASIB

That's exactly what she constantly do. It seems like a pitfall but it's her strength. This keeps her surprising and interesting by every release because you'll never can predict what's next. Plus it's also proof that she makes music by her mind / heart and not just to be trendy.

Ikr but some celebrities do that, like Miley with When I Look At You or maybe Whitney with I Will Always Love you (not sure) ! I always thought that she was teasing LG6 with Clover but tbh I share your opinion, I'd rather have a 5/6 songs EP to extend ASIB.
