If everyone feels like she’s saying something wrong then educate her. Explain why you disagree. The specific type of way people react to statements like this shows it coming from a place of insecurity or something.

Because in most other circumstances, when somebody says something you disagree with, like when religious people proclaim their belief in a god for example, people argue with that statement instead of blocking it out. When a celebrity talks about Jesus, the typical response isn’t “OMFG she believes in Jesus?! Cancelled!”. Most people would still see that celebrity as human. Maybe a flawed or unlikeable person, but they don’t get shut down. People either argue their point or move on.

We usually don’t unstan people for all their varying faiths and beliefs. But this topic in particular gets an entirely different response. I don’t get it. And there’s a disconnect in the way both sides interact with each other and it’s not helping either of them. If you want someone to see your side of things, acting like a deranged hive-minded mean group of people is not how you achieve that.

We can’t as a society have topics or opinions that are off limits. Because limiting what we talk about DOESN'T limit what we believe. You cannot make the world a better place without open discussion.

I could see both sides tbh. Yes, certain vaccines are extremely important to prevent certain diseases from returning and spreading.

But no one should be forced to inject unknown substances into their child just because the government demands it. Y’all claim the government cannot tell us what to do with our bodies, yet gladly and willingly allow yourself to be injected with substances made from many different things we probably shouldn’t be putting in our body.

Your argument would only make sense if all people were educated and reasonable - sadly, we all know there's a good chunk of the population who isn't that, and who would go against the grain out of ignorance and spite, even if you communicated very clearly to them that other people would be at risk...

Also do I really need to explain why conspiracy theories are dumb and why you shouldn't be basing your everyday life on them? What basis do you have to believe the government wants to trick you and inject you with something akin to a mind control drug? Please show me evidence that such a thing could even exist... '...things we probably shouldn't be putting in our bodies' - what things, be specific... what reason do you have to not subscribe to what experts in the field recommend in this particular instance? 'Government's bad, mkay' is not good enough...

Let me give you a different example - do you think it should be allowed for a parent to isolate their child from birth, and teach them ideologies that put other people at risk? Say, they decide to teach them that black people are spawn of satan and should be eradicated, and they teach them how to do it in theory - do you think it would be wrong if government chose to intervene and shut that down?

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

No matter how strong her opinions were, I was walking by her side. And still listen to her music. But not this one. This is my limit. Today is finally the day I unstan. :(

Same. I've been stanning her hard for over a decade. This sucks

Can't blame her for having trust issues towards governments tbh. It wasn't necessary to use Twitter to spread such a polarising statement tho.

I’m always wary of any person who trusts government so much..

And yes, the government Ultimately  does not care about the people’s health. It’s all about creating something to profit off of or something that can ultimately control its population.
Additionally, let’s not act like governments all across the world have not done horrific things to its citizens medically for the sake of “improving health”. I automatically think of the Syphillis Tuskegee study, amongst many others.

I’m not saying we need to completely abolish vaccinations. Many work and are important. But the real issue is completely trusting that government wants what’s safest and best for you. People Who so willingfully inject their child with whatever is deemed necessary without doing their research is scary. It’s common knowledge that metals, formaldehyde, fetal remnants are all incorporated in vaccines.
